3 Loaded Guns Tossed from Vehicle
During Traffic Stop
MECHANICSVILLE --- September 19, 2004 at approximately 8:52 p.
m. St. Mary's Sheriff's Dfc. Donald Poole stopped a vehicle for traffic violations on
Thompsons Corner Rd in Mechanicsville. As he and Dep. Brian Connelly stopped the
vehicle, something was thrown from the vehicle.
The items thrown were recovered and found to be three loaded weapons. One weapon was
discovered to have been stolen in a case from Prince Georges County. The driver and
occupants were arrested. The driver, age 19, Douglas Gene White of Waldorf was
charged with Reckless Driving, Driving a rental vehicle in violation of a rental
agreement, Possession of a Firearm, Possessing a stolen regulated firearm, Concealed
Deadly Weapon, and Transporting a Handgun in a vehicle. Passenger Terence Earl King,
age 28 of Waldorf, was charged with Possession of a stolen Regulated Firearm, Possession
of a Firearm, Concealed Deadley Weapon and Transporting a Handgun in a Vehicle.
Passenger Howard Lionel Lyles, 26, of Waldorf, was charged
with Possession of a Stolen Regulated Firearm, Possession of a Firearm, Concealed Deadly
Weapon, and Transporting a Handgun in a Vehicle. All three were taken to the St.
Mary's County Detention Center where they are all held on $5,000. bond.
