State Police Offer Cash Reward
for Information On Newspaper Machine Raid

LEONARDTOWN --- On the night of Friday, February 20, 2004, and continuing into the early
morning hours of Saturday, February 21, unknown culprits caused damage
to several dozen newspaper stands belonging to the St. Mary's Today
newspaper.  The majority of the damaged news stands were located in the
Leonardtown area, however, other stands were damaged in Callaway,
Lexington Park, St. James, and even several in Charles County.  The
investigation is being conducted by TFC Koch of the St. Mary's Bureau of
Criminal Investigations.  Investigators are asking for anyone who may
have seen suspicious activity on or around the locations of any of these
news stands to contact TFC Koch of the St. Mary's County BCI at (301)
475-4200 ext. 1952, or at the Leonardtown Barrack at (301) 475-8955.  If
you prefer to remain anonymous, you may do so.  A cash reward may be
available to anyone who has information on this crime that leads to an
arrest or indictment.
