Family of Injured Mechanicsville Firefighter
Requests Blood Donations
Prince George's County Fire Lieutenant "Dino" Mahaffey continues to be listed in
"critical" condition in the Burn Unit at The Washington Hospital Center.
Over the weekend he was removed from the rotating bed and was in a seated position
in a regular hospital bed. His dialysis treatments were discontinued on Monday.
An Ear, Nose, and Throat Specialist performed a procedure this morning to evaluate
the healing process of Dino's lungs and airway. The procedure went well and the
family is awaiting the results. During his recovery, it has become necessary to
provide Dino blood transfusions. The Mahaffey family requests that those with a
desire to help may do so by donating blood.
If you wish to donate blood in the name of Dino Mahaffey, contact the Blood Donor Center
