Gibson Reviewed by Arson Task Force, Remains A Suspect

Landover Hills  – Investigators with the Arson Task Force announced that finger print evidence obtained from Mr. Noel Gibson does not match evidence obtained from the scenes of the serial arsons in the Washington, D.C. region.

“We ask that the public remain observant and continue to report suspicious people or activity to the Arson Task Force,” said Fire Chief Ronald Blackwell.  “Tips from the public lead to the quick identification and apprehension of Mr. Gibson, in the Magnolia Elementary School case, and I’m confident the public will play a major role in solving the serial arsons.”

The Arson Task Force arrested Mr. Gibson on Wednesday, March 31, 2004; after the suspect falsely identified himself as a fire official at Magnolia Elementary School in Lanham, MD.  Witness reports from the school identified the suspect as Mr. Gibson, and the involved vehicle he was in possession of at the time of his arrest.
