BALTIMORE -
The Coast Guard
assisted a vessel
taking on water
south of the Bay
Bridge in Annapolis,
Md. today.
The Coast Guard
received a call from
a good Samaritan at
approximately 3 p.m.
about a 25- foot
rankin boat with six
adults and two
children aboard.
Coast Guard Station
Annapolis launched a
25- foot response
boat crew. Once on
scene, the rescue
crew was able to tow
the vessel to Sandy
Point State Park
where it was
trailered.
A Maryland Natural
Resource Police boat
crew was also on
scene and
helped transfer some
of the mariners in
distress back to
shore.
The Coast Guard
urges
mariners to carry a
marine band radio
aboard vessels to
report distress.
