WALDORF --- Charles County Sheriff Rex Coffey told ST. MARY'S TODAY today that he is hopeful that his officers will quickly solve the latest robbery of an area drug store, this one at the Northgate Pharmacy, located next to Nick's of Clinton on St. Charles Parkway.
"We have a lot of citizen involvement in this case, several people saw him outside pacing back and forth before he went in and another citizen took down his tag number when he left, we hope to make use of some store video tape from several local merchants as well," said Coffey.
Police report that on July 30 at 9:30 a.m., Charles County Sheriff’s officers responded to Northgate Pharmacy located at 3973 St. Charles Parkway in Waldorf for the report of an armed robbery. Investigation revealed a male suspect entered the pharmacy, brandished a handgun and demanded prescription drugs and money.
The employees complied and the suspect fled with prescription medication valued at more than $500. Witnesses saw the suspect flee in a dark blue or black Nissan car with Maryland tags 60Z787.
The suspect is described as a white male in his 30s or 40s wearing a dark hat. He had a large, possibly fake, beard believed to be a disguise. He was wearing a long sleeve shirt, possibly yellow, and jeans with a hole in the left leg.
The Nissan appeared to be driven by a black male. No further description was available. Anyone with any information is asked to contact the Charles County Sheriff’s Office at 301-932-7777 or Charles County Crime Solvers at 1-866-411-TIPS. Det. G. Higgs is investigating.
