for the Hills When Cop Wanted to Stop Her for DWI

LUSBY (Dec. 18, 2007)  A woman who had a DWI charge placed against her in January  by Maryland State Trooper J.
CHIRICHELLA when he stopped her at Rt. 4 and Rousby Hall Road, go to court in April where she pled guilty and was given probation, was arrested once again for DWI, but this time she had a rather lively night, earning more charges for assault and property destruction.

Calvert Sheriff’s officers report that on December 12th at 5:51 p.m. Dep. Mark Robshaw attempted a traffic stop on a vehicle whose driver was suspected of being under the influence of alcohol. 

The driver, later identified as Joanna Gawlik, 43 of Lusby, drove to her home and attempted to shut the garage door on the officer. 

Police charged Gawlik with fleeing from the officer by failing to stop, turned off her lights before ducking into her garage and trying to close the door. 

After placing Gawlik under arrest for DUI, police say that she became disorderly and kicked the window of Dep. Robshaw’s patrol vehicle, causing $350 in damage.

 Gawlik also is charged with assaulting Correctional Officer Collette Bivens at the Calvert County Detention Center by kicking her in the leg. 
Gawlik’s charges were DUI, second degree assault, destruction of property, resisting arrest and disorderly conduct.
