PRINCE FREDERICK ---
Calvert Sheriff's officers report
that GPS units in place in parked
cars at area restaurants and stores
have become popular with local
thieves and crackheads, who find
they can turn your pricey road maps
into quick cash.
Police report that
between 7:00 p.m. and 10:30 p.m. on
Friday, February 29, deputies
responded to four calls in Prince
Frederick for damaged property and
theft.
Four victims had each
had a window in their vehicle
smashed in and various navigational
systems stolen.
One victim had
been parked outside of Stoney’s
Restaurant, 2 had been parked at the
Walmart and another victim had been
parked outside of the Mamma Lucia’s
Restaurant.
At least two of the
navigation systems are reported to
be Garmin GPS’s valued at $250
each. Anyone with information is
asked to contact Det./Sgt. Michael
Moore of the CIT at 410-535-2800
extension 2454.
