Parents are invited to call, some already have, to talk about how their children have been victims to the minister's son, Cleaveland Hall Jr. who was put in charge of the day care for the Hollywood Worship Center and molested kids there for years prior to being allowed to plea to lesser charges...who was the Judge who let him out on work release?   Coming up.....

Chester the Molester & Judge Abrams who let him out to prey on kids:
Cleaveland Hall Jr. thought a little girl need him to kiss her while at the Patuxent Inn in California.  He was working there on work released authorized by St. Mary's Circuit Court Judge Karen Abrams, a jurist who does not have any children of her own, which if she did, would be able to relate to the fears of parents.  Hall was able to plea to lesser charges and instead of going to prison, he was allowed to be incarcerated in the St. Mary's jail and then released without any notice to victims or the public by Judge Abrams, who having won election in 2004, answers now to no one.

Child Molester Worked at Waldorf School

as Substitute Teacher

WALDORF UPDATE (Nov. 14, 2007)--- A St. Mary’s County man who was arrested while on work release for child molesting last month on charges of assaulting a 3-year-old girl at the Patuxent Inn in California, worked as a teacher at a Charles County church-affiliated school in the past year.

“When I saw his face in the paper it made my heart jump,” said a parent who read the story of Cleaveland Hall Jr.’s arrest after being allowed work release by St. Mary’s Circuit Court Judge Karen Abrams.

Pastor Ron Harris of the Waldorf Christian Academy told ST. MARY’S TODAY that his school does perform criminal background checks on teachers and the check on Hall didn’t reveal any prior convictions.

“He was never a full time teacher here and he was always supervised,” said Pastor Hall.  “He didn’t exhibit any behavior here.”
Pastor Harris said, “If we had known this, we would never have had him working here.”

The parent, who read of Hall’s prior instances of molesting children through his association with the Hollywood Worship Center in Oakville, said he immediately talked to his daughter to find out if she had been fondled.

“Hall did take a liking to my daughter,” said the parent, who said he would likely move his child from the school.  “We are going to reevaluate if our daughter is going to stay in this school.”

The parent said that Hall was his daughter’s teacher for a year up until the summer camp program in June of this year.

Major Buddy Gibson of the Charles County Sheriff’s Department said on Tuesday night that detectives would be contacting the school immediately to determine if any students were assaulted by Hall.

The Waldorf Christian Academy was founded by Pastor Harris about ten years ago and is associated with the New Hope Church of God located at Rt. 925 and Billingsley Road in Waldorf.

Hall was sentenced to five years in prison on August 28th after a plea agreement to second degree assault with 3 ½ years suspended and 1 year in prison on a fourth degree sex offence with work release allowed and Judge Abrams ordering that Hall be allowed parole.

Hall was ordered to be registered as a child sex offender but was allowed to work as a security guard at the Patuxent Inn hotel located on Rt. 235 in California, where he once again assaulted a child.

After prior instances of molesting children at the daycare center his mother ran, her license was suspended and he then was allowed to work at the church daycare, according to parents who had children at the center and were members of the church.

Parents said that Hall’s parents sent them a letter saying that their son was innocent and the church was being persecuted.

One parent said that she and her daughter went to St. John’s Pharmacy after he was charged and he was stocking shelves at the pharmacy, where he called out her daughter’s name, terrifying her.  Hall worked at the pharmacy after the incident in the mid-nineties.  Hall also worked at Wal-Mart as a security guard and was a substitute teacher at Greenview Knolls Elementary School.

St. Mary’s School Superintendent Dr. Michael Martirano told ST. MARY’S TODAY that Hall had worked in the school up until 2005.

“We work hard to prepare proper background checks and prevent those with criminal backgrounds from entering our schools and we will be reviewing this incident to see what happened and increase our levels of security,” said Dr. Martirano.

A parent who’s daughter was assaulted by Hall said that Hall had maintained a My Space account with pictures of girls from his classes at Greenview Knolls under a listing called “my girlfriends”.

Michelle Young, a parent of one child who was assaulted, said that she was promised that Hall would serve the full five year sentence and not get out on parole. “His parents should be ashamed of themselves,” said Young.

Molester Threatened Daughter, Says Mom

HOLLYWOOD UPDATE ( Nov. 5) ---  A Hollywood resident who’s child was molested by Cleaveland Hall, Jr. said that after the first time her child was assaulted by Hall that he was allowed to work at a local drug store, where he called her daughter over to him and hugged her when the woman visited the pharmacy.

“I heard him call my daughter, who ran right to him,” said the woman, who asked not to be identified in order to not identify her daughters.

“He was working at St. John’s Pharmacy and I heard this voice, I turned and he was down on the floor stocking shelves when he saw my daughter, she ran right to him,” said the woman. “I was terrified and told him to keep his hands off her.”

“It makes me sick to see that he had access to children even after the first incident when he was 16,” said the mother. “The Halls sent out a letter saying that he was innocent and that people were persecuting them and the church and even after she lost her child care license, they still have children who weren’t their own coming out of the house to meet the school bus.  My older daughter warned a family on Jones Wharf Road that Cleavie was a molester and they must have told him, he then told them that he could have killed my daughter if he wanted to as he had a shotgun in his trunk when he was following her down the road.”

“A woman in the states attorneys office told me that 2 and 3 year olds don’t make good witnesses and they also told us that parents wouldn’t be allowed in a courtroom when the children were testifying, can you imagine a defense attorney grilling your child?”

Man serving time for child molesting allowed to

roam free on work release, molested another

child in motel parking lot

ST. MARY'S TODAY

LEONARDTOWN (Oct. 31, 2007)  UPDATED --- A man in jail for child molesting was allowed work release, not on a work detail where a guard with a shotgun watches while inmates pick up trash, but was allowed to be working in public where he molested yet another child while on work release, which should probably be called "Rent - a - Molester".
Police report that they once again arrested
Cleveland D. Hall, 27, from Hollywood Maryland, and charged him with 2nd degree Assault.
But here is the rub.
While the cops dutifully report that they "arrested" Hall, they already had him in custody until St. Mary's Circuit Court Judge Karen Abrams let him out on work release.
Police say the arrest came as a result of an incident which occurred on October 26th at approximately 11 a.m. in the parking lot of the Patuxent Inn located in California Maryland, in which Hall, who is a registered sex offender and on court authorized work release from the St. Mary’s County Detention Center, entered a vehicle in the parking area which was occupied by a 3 year old female child and kissed the child on the cheek before being detected by the child’s mother and a witness. Police say that Hall’s work release privileges were revoked and he is currently incarcerated.
Wow! But for how long?
The decision to allow an inmate to be released on work release came directly by the order of the court, according to court records and Judge Abrams who authorized the release. Child sex offenders being able to qualify for work release boggles the mind...but this is St. Mary's County.
"We are unhappy that this took place, but when the Judge orders an inmate released on work release, that decision does not have input from our department, however, as part of the system, I can't say we aren't responsible too, when this came to my attention I told them to immediately issue a press release about this incident," said Sheriff Cameron.
Cameron was asked if his agency in the future would issue a warning to the public when a dangerous sex offender was being released on work release, in view of the fact that his agency spends time issuing press releases warning about the dangers of not using seat belts, teens smoking cigarettes and advising citizens to lock their homes and cars to prevent thefts, certainly the imminent release of a child sex offender might warrant notice as well.  Cameron said the point was well taken and he would soon have a reply.
After this treat from the arrogant judiciary of Maryland, where a sentence never really means much, the Sheriff's Department and the State Police roamed the area on Tuesday night checking for sex offenders who had violated the law by setting up Halloween displays to entice kids into their homes.
They found them, too.
Sex offenders have to register with the state and anyone can look up their zip code to find out the location of nearby Chester the Molesters, a good thing to do before taking your kids trick or treating.
