MDA Animal Health Services POULTRY TESTING AGENT CERTIFICATION Do you enjoy working with poultry? Are you an on-hands type of person? Do you or your children participate in Maryland County Fairs and Shows? If the answer is yes, then Maryland Department of Agriculture would like to invite you to attend the MDA Animal Health Services Poultry Testing Agent certification training session. March 15, 2007 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM MDA Animal Health Lab 8077 Greenmead Rd College Park, MD Registration is free but limited to 20 students. This program will train the agents to test birds that intend to participate in fairs and shows across the state for Pullorum- Typhoid and Avian Influenza. Testing for these diseases is critical for the safekeeping of our birds. On-hands training and certification will be an important part of the program. Once certified testing agents will be able to perform these tests on other flocks as well as their own. Currently the state has 50 Testing Agents, however, more are needed. Registration is limited, due to space and equipment. Participants from all counties are encouraged to attend, especially Charles, St. Mary's & Prince George's.
