     Cops Charge Two With Dealing Drugs
  LEONARDTOWN (July 10, 2008) Vice-Narcotics Detectives began an investigation into Charles Ray Reid (Age 20 of Mechanicsville) and his distribution of marijuana. A controlled purchase of marijuana was made and Search and Seizure warrants were executed.
Marijuana, packaging materials and ledgers were discovered. Suspect Reid was charged with Distribution of Marijuana and Possession with the Intent to Distribute Marijuana. He was being held on $45,000.00 cash bond pending a hearing before the District Court Commissioner. An Indictment is pending a State’s Attorney’s Office and Grand Jury review.
In an unrelated investigation, over a several month period Vice Narcotics Detectives made purchases in various amount of crack cocaine from Suspect Devone Artice Hall (Age 20 of Chaptico, Md.). His operation was located in the northern end of St. Mary’s County. Search Warrants led to the recovery of cocaine, money, handguns and a vehicle was seized as well. He was arrested on three (3) open Grand Jury Indictments for Distribution of Cocaine and additional charges are pending.       

Heathens Stole Federal Lawman’s Stuff in Auto Break-in

WALDORF --- On June 27 at 7 a.m., Charles County Sheriff’s officers responded to the 2700 block of Hale Court for the report of a theft from auto. Investigation revealed that the suspect(s) broke into a federal law enforcement officer’s car between June 25 and June 27 and stole a backpack containing police equipment (police radio, identification card and handcuffs) and personal items. Officer C. Barrows is investigating.

 

Grocery Shopping Easier While Blitzed

 LA PLATA --- On June 28 at 1:15 a.m., Charles County Sheriff’s officers responded to the parking lot of a grocery store on Heritage Green Parkway in La Plata for the report of an impaired driver. Officers located the driver, Christy Lynn Spellacy, 25, of La Plata, and charged her with driving under the influence and driving while intoxicated after she failed several field sobriety tests.
