Cops Nabbed Illegally Gotten Gun

CALLAWAY --- St. Mary's Sheriff's Lt. Daniel Alioto reports that detectives from the St. Mary’s County joint Sheriff and State Police Vice Narcotics Division served a Search and Seizure Warrant on the home and person of James Sheehan of Callaway. Suspect Sheehan (Age 20) was found to be in possession of a handgun that was obtained through “Street Contacts” in Lexington Park. Suspect Sheehan was arrested and charged with two handgun violations to include Firearm Unlawful Sale Transfer and Regulated Firearm Possession by a habitual user of marijuana. He is awaiting a hearing before the District Court Commissioner.  

         In the last 90 days, Vice Narcotics Detectives have recovered 8 (eight) long guns and 5 (five) handguns during drug operations and warrant executions. Detectives will continue to work closely with State’s Attorney Richard D. Fritz and members of his Office to curtail the illegal possession of firearms in St. Mary’s County.
