Cops say burglar is busted

LEONARDTOWN (Oct. 27, 2009) --- Capt. Terry Black of the St. Mary's Sheriff's and Maryland State Police joint Bureau of Criminal Investigation reports that on October 22, 2009, at approximately 2:30 p.m., St. Mary’s County BCI detectives arrested David Carroll Gass, age 49, of no fixed address and charged him with 1st Degree Burglary, Theft over $10,000 and Violation of a Protective Order.  

Detectives determined Gass forced entry into a residence in Leonardtown and removed property from the victim’s residence.  

Detectives executed a Search & Seizure Warrant on a storage unit, rented by Gass, and recovered the stolen property. 

Gass was incarcerated in the St. Mary’s County Detention Center pending an appearance before the District Court Commissioner.
