Early morning crash into tree kills passenger

LA PLATA (Dec. 12, 2008) On Dec. 11 at 1:39 a.m., Charles County Sheriff’s officers responded to 4760 Bryantown Road in La Plata for the report of a motor vehicle crash.  Investigation revealed the driver of a Toyota Scion, Frank Richard Jones, 20, of Waldorf, was traveling east on Bryantown Road when he lost control of his car and struck a utility pole and a tree. The front seat passenger, Christopher James Wright, 26, of La Plata, was ejected from the car and pronounced dead on the scene. The driver was transported to Prince George’s Hospital Center with non-life threatening injuries. The cause of the accident is under investigation. Cpl. D. Belfield is investigating.
