COUNTRY LAKES (Feb. 25, 2010) ---  St. Mary's Sheriff's Dfc Cindy Allen reports that on February 24, 2010 the St. Mary’s County Emergency Communications Center dispatched a lookout for blue Pontiac Grand Am with Maryland registration plates.  It was reported the occupants of the Grand Am had just robbed a subject in the area of Mechanicsville Road & Beverly Drive in Mechanicsville, Maryland.

Dfc. J. Graves located and stopped the vehicle.  The vehicle was occupied by Deshaun Steven Hardaway, 21 of no fixed address, Joshua Craig Crandall-Gascon 21 of Welcome, Maryland, Nicole Marie Garrow, 19 of no fixed address, Christine Nicole Smoot, 19 of Nanjemoy all of which were detained by Dfc. Further investigation revealed the victim had arranged to meet Hardaway, Gasco, Garrow and Smoot in the area of Mechanicsville Road and Beverly Drive to facilitate and illegal drug transaction.

When the victim met with the subjects they assaulted him by punching him in the face several times and stole his wallet containing his money.  The suspects then fled the area.  The victim positively identified Hardaway, Gasco, Garrow and Smoot as the subjects who assaulted and robbed him.  A search of the vehicle did not reveal any illegal substances.

Hardaway, Gasco, Garrow and Smoot were all charged with second degree assault and robbery.
