Dorsey Named NFL Team Executive of the Year

El Paso, Texas —- Leonardtown native John Michael Dorsey was honored at the Pro Football Hall of Fame Texas vs. the Nation All-Star Challenge which was played this past Saturday, February 6, 2010.

The game features top collegiate draft eligible seniors from across the Nation facing-off against the top talent from the state of Texas. Scouts, Agents, and NFL personnel from across the country were in El Paso last week to evaluate the players and take part in game week activities.

An awards dinner was held the evening of Tuesday, February 02 to honor sponsors, VIP’s, community leaders, and some of the NFL’s top off-the-field talents.

Dorsey, Director of College Scouting for the Green Bay Packers, was one of only three NFL award recipients earning the honor of Team Executive of the Year.

The award is given to honor not only contributions made on the field, but off the field as well. Dorsey has served three separate tenures with the Green Bay Packers, as a player, college scout, and now as the director of college scouting. He has also served on the NFL college advisory committee. Dorsey’s list of community involvement is lengthy including a spot on the board of ’65 Roses’ for the Wisconsin Cystic Fibrosis Foundation and, this past year, he has been instrumental in facilitating the advancement of the American Football Coaches Association’s and FBI’s National Child ID Program in Maryland and throughout the country.

Awards honoring lifetime achievement in the NFL and the Scout of the Year were also presented to C.O. Brocato of the Tennessee Titans and Tim Mingey of the Jacksonville Jaguars, respectively.
