 Driver Drunk; Moody and Irritable

Passenger Was Packing Heat

HERMANVILLE ---  St. Mary's Deputies had a particularly dicey situation on Saturday when at about 3:40 am,  Cpl. Grumbles observed and stopped a silver Chevy Tahoe at Three Notch Road and Blimpies in Lexington Park for operating in a suspicious manner.  Cpl. Grumbles reports that she noticed the four occupants moving around inside prior to and during the stop. 

DFC Cindy Allen reports that other deputies arrived on the scene to assist. The driver was identified as Malcolm Omega Reynolds 27 of Colton’s Point, Maryland.  Investigation revealed Mr. Reynolds was operating a vehicle while under the influence of alcohol and subsequently arrested. 

A female passenger, identified as Tosha Denise Gallagher 30 of Fort Meade, Maryland, became very uncooperative and disorderly. Gallagher and the other two passengers were ordered from the vehicle so it could be searched incident to the arrest of Reynolds.

Once outside the vehicle, Gallagher became even more uncooperative and disorderly. Gallagher was arrested for hindering. The remaining two rear-seat passengers, identified as Jason Earl William-Jones 27 of Lexington Park and Justin Lemar Hill 26 of Waldorf, Maryland were detained outside the vehicle during the vehicle search. 

The search revealed a loaded 12 gauge shotgun and a loaded 9mm pistol within the reach of the occupants of the vehicle.  Bureau of Criminal Investigations, Vice / Narcotics, and Assistant States Attorney Daniel White were contacted and apprised of the situation.

ASA White responded to the scene. The firearms were seized, the vehicle was stored and all four occupants arrested.

The suspects were charged as follows:

 

Reynolds: Driving Under the Influence of Alcohol, Handgun in Vehicle, Illegal Possession of Regulated Firearm, 2 counts Concealed Weapon. 

 

Gallagher: Hindering, Failure to Obey Lawful Order, Handgun in Vehicle, 2 counts Concealed Weapon

 

Jones:  Illegal Possession of Regulated Firearm, Handgun in Vehicle, 2 counts Concealed Weapon

 

Hill:  Illegal Possession of Regulated Firearm, Handgun in Vehicle, 2 counts Concealed Weapon
