Drunk Driver Wanna-be

Firefighter Let Off Easy

LEONARDTOWN (Dec. 26, 2008) — St. Mary’s States Attorney Richard Fritz dropped charges of negligent driving for a man who was found guilty of drunk driving; but simply was given probation before judgment. The drunk driver got off scot free and has bragging at bars that he frequents that he has good political connections in Leonardtown.

Fritz has been appearing on TV commercials aired by Metrocast warning of stern punishment for drunk drivers, but he let David Wayne Readmond, 47, of Hollywood, off without any repercussions for his arrest on August 16, 2008 by Trooper Page of the Maryland State Police.

Could it be that since Readmond, who is unemployed, claims that he is a member of the Hollywood VFD that Fritz considers the votes of firefighters more important than the safety of the public?

Readmond drives his father’s blue pickup around when he visits Toots Bar, the Moose Lodge Bar in Hollywood, Hole in the Wall and ABC Lounge in California. Police officers with time on their hands should look for his vehicle as sources report that he often drives drunk and just might run out of ways to cash in political chips in the Walled City.

Firefighters in the area are the ones who the public depends upon to respond to the scene of crashes and extricate the victims of drunk drivers for emergency care and many of them are ticked off that Readmond is claiming he is one of them and gets away with endangering the lives of them and their families. Readmond was reportedly eliminated as a member of the volunteer fire department in Hollywood.

HVF0039 was the tag number of Readmond’s vehicle when he was arrested for DWI.
