Elderly Driver Nails ATM Customer with Truck
SOLOMON'S ISLAND ---
Calvert Sheriff's officers report that on March 1 at 2:41 p.m. a
2001 GMC Yukon being driven by Mary N. Kuehnle, 79 of Solomon's,
failed to stop when the operator mistakenly stepped on the
accelerator instead of the brake while pulling up to the
automated teller machine located in the shopping center near
Holiday Drive in Solomon's. A pedestrian, later identified as
Timothy W. Tipton, 50 of Ft. Washington, using the teller
machine at the time, was pinned between the Yukon and the
machine. He was transported to P.G. Hospital Center in stable
condition. Charges are pending. Cpl. Gary Shrawder is
continuing the investigation.
