LEONARDTOWN
(March 11, 2009) --- The
fire chief of the Solomon’s
Volunteer Rescue Squad and
Fire Department has been
accused of assault for an
incident which took place on
the Patuxent River Naval Air
Station and a peace order
sought by the victim, St.
Mary’s Deputy Lindsay M.
Irvin was granted by the
District Court of Maryland
on March 9, 2009 against
Chief Rich Wilson, 40, of
Lusby.
The Court
order states that Wilson
not: abuse, contact, shall
not enter the residence the
two share, shall stay away
from employment or school,
which in this case would
mean that Chief Wilson
cannot bother Deputy Irvin
at the Southern Maryland
Police Academy.
Peace orders
are one-sided charges with a
hearing held on March 9th
and valid through March 13th,
which is Friday the 13th.
A hearing held that date
extended the order through
Sept. 13, 2009.
Wilson is
reported to be a federal
career firefighter at Pax
River NAS.
St. Mary’s
Sheriff Tim Cameron
confirmed that his agency
knew of the allegation of
assault as the deputy
followed procedure by
reporting the incident to
the duty officer.
Sheriff
Cameron said that the report
was that the incident took
place on the base.
Deputy Irvin
is listed as a member of the
Solomon’s fire department.
No comment
could be obtained from Chief
Wilson on Wednesday when a
call was placed to the
firehouse and when he
responds this story will be
updated.
Deputy Irvin,
who is now in the academy,
does not have a firearm
until she graduates thus if
Chief Wilson should assault
her in the future she will
have a handy weapon or two
to use on him in self
defense.
The Solomon's fire and
rescue company has recently
suspended it's longtime
president for violating the
rules of the department,
according to Chief Wilson.
A Solomon's member who was
charged with theft of
department funds by the
Maryland State Police was
suspended as a member
pending the outcome of the
charges. That member,
Sherri Roper, was also
convicted of drug
distribution by selling
drugs to an undercover cop.
But the
Solomon's board of directors
waived its rules and allowed
Roper to join and to handle
funds.
The husband of one board
member, Gary Crampton, is
also the Calvert County
chairman of the fire and
rescue board and himself was
terminated from Walter Reed
Federal Fire Department.
Crampton was then hired at
Calvert Cliffs Nuclear Power
Plant.
Crampton
denied he was terminated by
Walter Reed but a new chief
is in place and personnel
officials say that Crampton
fought the charges against
him and lost and is
terminated.
Longtime members of
Solomon's report that the
company is in complete
meltdown and disarray.
Today, following the
publication of this news
article, the
name of Rich Wilson has been
removed as Fire
Chief from the Solomon's
fire and rescue website.

From the past letters that I
have written this paper it
should be no surprise of the
current disheartening and
barbaric attack that Chief
Rich Wilson has allegedly
committed. I stated the
truth and the people of the
station chose to disregard
the warnings. I informed the
Board of Directors of his
violent and unstable
tendencies displayed around
the station and on numerous
emergency calls, his
behavior has reportedly been
witnessed by several
operational officers and
members of the community and
now he has chosen to attack
and batter his girlfriend
who is a member and St.
Marys Deputy in training.
It is very unfortunate that
Chief Rich Wilson was
allowed to continue being in
charge of the department
after the last incident that
plagued the company; it was
said before and the warning
was not heeded and it will
be said again. THIS
DEPARTMENT IS IN NEED OF
SOME SERIOUS INVESTIGATING
BY SOME SERIOUS PEOPLE. As
you can see Rich Wilson
allegedly promoted a
atmosphere of cavalierism,
chauvinism, and
incompetency. Rich Wilson
has allegedly battered his
Girlfriend ( who by the way
is not just an average women
but a deputy in training
with the St. Marys County
Sheriffs Dept.) if this is
not a clear sign that he
needs help then i don't know
what else he has to do to
show you. Maybe now Calvert
County will step in and get
him the help he so badly
needs, maybe in the form of
some anger management,
domestic violence counseling
or even better some county
orange and a lengthy
sentence. we should not be
tolerant of a women beater,
after all haven't we all
made a commitment to help
people, not viciously ambush
and attack them; even when
we call them our significant
other. As of 11Mar09 Rich
Wilson is still a ACTIVE
member of the company acting
as a EMT/FF is this what we
want coming when 911 is
called for Domestic
Violence? will Solomon's
suspend this member? will we
expel him from the company?
what will we do to affirm
our commitment to the
community? To Rich Wilson
what would you do if someone
did the same thing you did,
but it was one of your
daughters not your
girlfriend?

Oh boy, here we go again
Solomons! Nothing like
Calvert County Drama.
1. Mr. Crampton DOES NOT
work for the Power Plant, he
works for a contractor, want
to make sure that is VERY
clear!!!! You have to pass a
background check, and look
at his record, and once you
are FIRED from a job, it's
hard to get another one,
especially with a criminal
record and now the history
with Walter Reed FD.
2. Mr. Crampton could be in
a lot of trouble, he was
passed over for his
retirement (lost it all)
because...well he knows what
he did! and we will see in
April what the truth is,
mess with people so much,
that it finally comes back
on you!
3. I am sure that this Mr.
Crampton is still with the
Fire Commissioners Board, so
it's not just Solomons Fire
Department that keeps people
like that around, it's the
county setting the
precedence.
4. The Board member with
Solomons is no longer there
that allowed Ms. Roper stay
with the department, but as
someone stated earlier on a
posting, you surround
yourself with people like
that, trash protects trash,
right?
5. I think it's quite crazy
that this Mr. Wilson is in
trouble, yet, wasn't he the
one who protected Ms. Sherri
Roper? interesting.
I say us as citizens sit in
on some of these board
meetings, sounds quite
interesting, doesn't it?

Calvert!" That is funny how
you are the first to write
feedback about drama and you
do nothing but bring it. ALL
of this gossip and feedback
is enough to make ANY
department look bad. Don't
forget that ALL departments
have their fair share of
drama. It's part of the
territory. The biggest
problem of all
is how each and every one of
the members are all
volunteers, Out here on the
streets,
donating time to save lives
in the town and yet this
type of behavior is
acceptable. It
amazes me how year after
year, this kind of behavior
continues. I think that

has forgotten what is means
to be a DEPARTMENT. To be a
TEAM. Chief Wilson is having
some personal issues that he
is dealing with, and that he
deserves for his actions. No
one is perfect and
everything that goes around
will come back around sooner
or later.
Sheri Roper is innocent
until proven guilty and all
the haters need to mind
their own.
Gary Crampton, never a
member of the department and
yet his business is all over
town and
TOTALLY incorrect. Let the
man be, who ever feels the
need to continue to dragging
his
name around really has some
personal issues with this.
Take care of it yourself and
stop
draggin his name into places
is shouldn't . You truly do
have issues with DRAMA. Past
Board Members that have been
accused of false
allegations, really... Come
on people...
Stop the hate and jealousy
and find a better way to
deal with your issues of
others. The
name calling and
backstabbing is unbelievably
embarrassing and
hypocritical. Think about
it. I have seen this
department fall completely
on it's face in the past
year. The
department has lost good
members, not to mention
members that are certified
and have many
years of experience. People
who have given their time
for years and also past down
from
lifetime members. Can't any
of you see what is going on.
WHY? Why do we continue to
respond to this trash mag
and put things out there. It
is normal for folks that are
not
happy to retaliate, however,
this is the wrong way to
make things right. All
people are
doing is putting everyone's
hard work to shame. All the
GOOD people that have given
their time and couldn't put
up with repeated downgrading
treatment that is presented
and
tolerated in the department.
Look around you currently,
most of the department is
run by
teenagers. I think they
should lead by example and
yet they have no example to
be
followed. It is all an
embarrassment to the
department, our town, and
the county. Our
county is a nice county and
our town deserves better
than this. Writer of Drama
in
Calvert, you say this place
is such a nice place to live
and yet you trash it every
chance you get.... This is
not your first reader
feedback response. I
wouldn't be
surprised if you worked for
the County... hmmmm... I
think you do... Anyway,
aside from
that, it is time for the
people that matter to stand
up and rise above this
immature,
chovanistic, destructive
behavior and END this. Past
President, Billy Jones, is
now
treated as if he never gave
his time and dedication that
he gave for years. What
happened to it all. THe
families that have grown up
in this department and made
careers
from this department. What
happened? Why can't everyone
put their selfish opinions
aside and rebuild what has
been destroyed. Mr.
Wilson's, Sherri Roper, Mr.
Crampton, and
past Board Members that are
spoken so poorly about in
this trash mag should be
left
alone. Folks should keep
their noses clean and stop
putting business where it
doesn't
belong and also step up to
the plate to have their
voices heard. Constructive
criticism
goes along way when it is
said face to face. This
hiding behind words in a
trash mag is
pointless. Every member
needs to come together and
make a change. Stand up and
rebuild,
and squash this mess. Too
many good people out there
that don't deserve this to
happen.
Everyone needs to build
bridges instead of burning
them. The department has
lost one
IMPORTANT INGREDIENT to a
TEAM and that is
RESPECT!!!!!!! Think about
this before you
criticize and maybe some
need to FORGIVE and MOVE
FORWARD.... Let the past be
the past
and the HATE turn away.....
RESPECT can go a long way
and remember that ROME was
not
built in a day and it takes
EVERYONE, not just a few.
People should start being
accountable for their
actions and the CONSTITUTION
should be our model. Folks
should
reach out to members that
have left and gone elsewhere
to bring them back. Make

steps, but make a difference
and don't be prejudice of
your enemies along the way.

Character Counts; bring in
old timers to straighten out
mess

Perhaps the
members of the Solomon's
Rescue Squad and Fire
Department need a few
training sessions provided
by Mr. Raymond Lankford ,Mr.
Bob Sealey, Mr Vernon
McCready and Robbie Robinson
who are the only members I
know from the original unit.
I can assure you the core
members would tolerate this
mess for less then one
minute. Maybe, what needs to
take place for both current
and new members are
background
checks and mandatory drug
tests (paid for by the
volunteers themselves).
Granted these issues weren't
a high priority 20 or 30
years ago, especially since
everyone was from the county
who were members. In
addition to that everyone
went to the same elementary
school on the southern end
and the same high school for
many years (since there were
only two) allowing everyone
to at least know a little
bit about each other.
Unfortunately, in today's
environment that isn't true
thus giving way to the kind
of nonsense that is
happening probably not just
at Solomons, but throughout
Calvert county and
surrounding counties as
well. This entire episode is
uncalled for and it is time
that Calvert county
officials intervene and help
to "get it right". A few
quality volunteers who are
of good character (and I
know there are some still)
within Solomons are better
then high numbers who are
inadequate. Again, bringing
in the "old timers" to get
it working as it once did
may be the best solution all
the way around.

Solomon's
Chief was placed on leave
until this 'blows over'

As of our
last membership meeting the
chief has not been removed
.His resignation has not
been accepted by the board
of directors, and he was
placed on administrative
leave until this "blows
over". What exactly does
this mean? The problem with
Solomon's is that it is full
of people that cant follow
the rules, if these people
were at other departments in
the county their actions
would not be tolerated one
bit, and immediate actions
would be taken to protect
the department and the
community. Once again why is
it so difficult to follow
the rules and do the right
thing. It is very funny how
Rich Wilson can get into
trouble but others in the
department continue to
respond about other people
and their wrong doings. Mr
Crampton; to my knowledge
has never been a member at
Solomon's so why do people
from the station continue to
talk about him as if he were
a problem at Solomon's, his
wife is a member and to my
knowledge has done nothing
wrong at Solomon's, maybe she
can rub people the wrong way
but still she has done
nothing wrong. I also don't
think that Mr Crampton is
the one who was just accused
of "allegedly" beating up
his girl friend. As for Ms.
Roper why is her name a
constant with the replies to
this paper? she was accused
of a crime and was charged
and subsequently will be
going to court for these
charges. What if she is
innocent? what if there is
not enough evidence to
prosecute? will these people
send apology replies to this
paper will they say they are
sorry to her? probably not
because that would require
people to say something to
someone's face and we all
know that that will never
happen at Solomon's. Once
again I don't think that Ms
Roper was involved in the
"alleged" beating that Rich
Wilson has been accused of
in regard to his girlfriend.
The reason nothing gets done
at Solomon's is people are
afraid, they are afraid that
they will no longer be in
the "click".If we want
something else to talk about
why are we not addressing
our problems we have on the
ems side of the house and
the continued issues with
the ems b chief, other than
Rich Wilson this person has
done more damage than any
good, she has driven more
people away from Solomon's
and is just as conniving. Mr
Rich Wilson you are a
ticking time bomb and it was
said in replies to this
paper to leave you alone
because you are having
personal problems, well sir
everyone has problems but
not every one chooses to
"allegedly" beat our
significant others so badly
that they have to go the
police for protection. You
have done a allot of damage
to this station in the time

I am truly
amazed at the utter nonsense
and fabrications that I have
been reading. I have known
Rich for many, many years, I
have also known Lindsey in
the last couple of years. I
don’t know exactly what
happened last week but I am
amazed at the amount of
rumors that have gone on. I
have had the opportunity to
speak to both of them and I
have also read the police
report and Lindsey’s written
statement to the police,
they are nothing like the
rumors that were circulated.
Lindsey has told me and
others that she knows that
Rich did not intend to hurt
her it was an unfortunate
incident. The reason that
she got a protective order
was because that is common
practice and she followed
protocols set up by her
employer not because he beat
her. Silence Dogood, you
would know that if you would
ask her instead of
fabricating the stories that
you do. You (Dogood) have
written several letters and
have not been able to
provide any facts to
corroborate your stories.
When has Rich ever yelled
and screamed on a fireground,
when has Rich yelled and
screamed at the firehouse? I
have seen him yell at the
firehouse when some “stupid”
stuff has gone on or in an
argument. Welcome to the
fire service, you will get
yelled at and you will yell.
Rich treats people with
respect and is always
willing to lend a hand. To
the guys that ran around
with the Spanky for Chief
t-shirts and put up the
signs, several of you were
sitting at the computer as
Rich was helping you build
your resume. To the person
that wrote that Rich
protected Sherri, yes he did
because that is the way he
is. He protects all of us
that is what made him a
chief whether he liked you
or not he would help you. It
takes allot for Rich not to
like someone and turn his
back, over the years I have
seen it twice once when it
came to a certain member
that quit and called him on
the phone to cuss him out
and tried to rejoin the
department and another time
is to a former friend that
blatantly lied to him.
Doggod you talk about the
“click” is this the same
click that gets the pieces
on the street? The click
that are the top runners?
The click that receives the
awards because they are that
damn good. Guess what I
would rather be in that
click than the one you are
in. Again be part of the
solution not the problem.
Let us know how to run the
place because you certainly
have opinions. All I know is
that Rich was never a time
bomb and now the department
has lost a good man. I also
like the fact that you blame
him and the click for him
just being suspended. He
came in Monday morning and
resigned, many of us told
him not to. For those of you
that love to throw stones
remember many of us have had
some type of charge against

know why he broke his hand
at work (punching a table
because he was mad... guess
who he was mad at?) glad she
wasn't there for the
receiving end of that. you
would also know that Rich
Wilson was driving around on
a suspended drivers license(
that was discovered in the
Maryland judiciary case
research) but i guess i made
that up to. Mr. Bunyan you
are the problem that i am
talking about at 3 you
choose to support Rich
Wilson because you are
probably a officer under him
and are deathly afraid of
loosing your position if he
is gone or one of the under
age people that rely on him
for a good party. as for the
top runner awards we all
know what" STAND BY "does
for the numbers ,so i would
not brag to much about that.

well they are no secret at
the table. As for Rich
Wilson coming in on Monday
to resign well you would
know that he was called and
it was suggested before
something could be done to
him. you would know that
since you are close to him.

probably called him to give

up at the station or to a
board member they are blown
off there is some serious
wrong doings going on here.
Rich Wilson is not the only
problem here at 3 he is just
"the head of the snake" and
as you cut the head off the
snake the rest will soon
die. the department is so
dysfunctional and such a
disgrace in the county it is
time for a new style of
leadership. a style that
would not tolerate any
member that would beat their
significant other ( no
matter if he meant to hurt
her or not) a style that
would place the right person
in the right spot not placed
because you are in tight
with the winner or you have
kissed so much a** that you
are given a position. )
To the people that think my
writing is fabricated well i
apologize, because
unfortunately it is all true
i do not feel the need to
lie or make up stuff ask any
one that you want if any of
this is fabricated and you
will find that if no-body is
around them they will sadly
have to tell you it is all
true. you say that i am
doing more harm than good by
writing to this paper well
what about the people that
have blown me off when i
come to them and they choose
not to act or even
investigate, what about the
person who punched the
president in the face, what
about the Sgt. that
threatened the president
life, what about the member
who was steeling from
patients, what about the
member that stole from a
deaf doctor, what about the
member that could not supply
water to firefighters at a
working fire, what about the
chief officer that sexually
assaulted a member, what
about the member that was
found with child porn on his
computer, what about the
current felons that are
active members, what about
the member that raped a
student wile he was a
teacher, etc. etc.
etc....... I suppose that i
made all that up to and i
still guess that i am doing
more harm then good as
compared to the incident
mentioned above. Mr. Bunyon
as you can see your reality
and mine are two different
realities and so as long as
Rich (chris brown) Wilson
has friends like you he will
continue to not seek help or
he will continue to have the
notion that he is some sort
of leader or role model

figured out who you are and
you have told on yourself
yet again. You have
misinformed about Mr.
Crampton he has not quit or
has gotten terminated from
Walter Reed. It really
sounds like to me and I am
sure to others that you are
very jealous of Mr. and Mrs.
Crampton since you
apparently know so much
about the Cramptons and so
much to say grow some BALLS
and call her!!!!!!!! As for
Ms. Roper there is more than
one person on the board and
1 person DOES NOT have the
ability to over rule
everyone else. If you must
know Ms. Roper has fought
since day ONE to member at
CO.3 and the BOD you are
referring to was not on the
board when she joined. She
also has gone thru a special
board meeting referring to
her background and the vote
to keep her as a member was
6 to 0 all in her favor!!!!!

protecting Ms. Roper, that
wasn't the case he was just
stating his opinion on her.

hope you get it thru your
head that you are the one

I feel the reason people are
still talking about Roper is
that they are a bunch of
haters she has moved on with
her life and she has
overcome her addiction and a
lot of people figured she
was going to do nothing but
mess up again. Well hey
people, she is doing great
and just remember some
members of CO.3 have come to
her and she helped them get
sober and to this day they
still are. So as far as I am
concerned she is a roll
model for the younger
members that may want to
experiment with all of the
peer-pressure that they have
in this day and age. And a
far as going to court
everyone knows what the deal
is and you know as well as I
do that no one is going to
say sorry or nothing to her,
because some that are
running there mouths where
suppose to be her friends
that she confided in ; but
anyone that knows Ms. Roper,
knows her feeling on people
like that NO love lost here
and also that Karma is a
&*#$%. Mr. Wilson has alot
to be worried about due to
the fact he has charges now
for Domestic Violence (just
the 411 there are quit a bit
of members down there that
have been charged and
convicted of Domestic
Violence, stalking,
telephone mis use and
misconduct FELONY CHARGES)
As far as I am concerned
those types of charges alone
are way worse the what Roper
has done. You have a chief
officer that is driving on a
suspended license;
responding on calls what if
he gets into an accident in
one of CO.3 vehicles? So
instead of worrying about
peoples pasts, that have

Dear Readers: I wanted to
take the time to point out a
few facts hoping you realize
that everything that has
been put before you is not
true. If you go back into
Maryland Judiciary, type in
Rich Wilson’s names, a lot
of them, huh? Default
Calvert County. Look at the
first one....birthday is
10/1968, now go ahead and
read that one and you see we
know that is the correct one
because it is his girlfriend
Lindsay and her name has
been mentioned in one of
these letters. Now if you go
back to the first page with
all the names, scroll down
and look at the Traffic one.
Look at the birthdate,
11/1972 and Rich never lived
on Johnswoods and his wife's
name is not Carrie. But if
you go back to the very
beginning and then default
St. Mary's there is Rich's
traffic ticket. Now the
court date is December 19th
which was a Friday. Rich
didn't appear. But if you
look that he paid the fine
of $40.00 on December 22nd
which was Monday. Case
closed. Folks I can almost
guarantee you Rich worked on
that Friday. By the way he
is also a paid Firefighter
which requires 24 hour
shift. All of these facts
were left out. And I can
almost bet on it, he didn't
touch anything down at
Solomon’s.
I could probably list some
more facts but I at least
wanted to get one out there
to you. And we don't know
the facts what happened
during an argurment between
the TWO of them, but I do
know this, what you've been
told, the rumors you heard,
they aren't true. You just
have to wait for the trial
to come.
Thru the many years being a
member at Company 3 I have
met some of the finest
people who have chosen to
become volunteers that I
have grown to love and
respect but especially the
young ones that have chosen
to serve their community. I
don't see many being
disrespectful, in fact I see
hard and dedicated
volunteers and I am grateful
to them for serving their
community. After all they
could be out drinking and
partying, but nope they
chose to work their butts
off being volunteers. Sure
you might have a few, but
who doesn't, this is not a
perfect world.
And as for Sheri Roper, she
has nothing to do with this.
She's not the first person
to have some kind of charges
brought up against her at
Company 3 or other Companies
and I know she won't be the
last. And there have been
many many more charges
brought against others while
we had a different Chief and
at other Companies, but
unfortunately Sheri's
happened at the time of an
election and we have some
sore losers. I just wish if
you are not happy with
Company 3, leave, go to
another Company or shut the
hell up and grow up.
And on that note I close
this letter and plead with
you to please stop all this
nonsense. Its time for the
company to pull together as
a team and serve our
Community.
After all, isn't that why
you became a member of
Company 3?
