Fire Marshal Seeking Suspected Arsonist

LEXINGTON PARK (Jan. 22, 2007) - Deputy State Fire Marshals are asking the public’s help in finding a man suspected of igniting an Oct. 30, 2005 blaze at 21536 Essex Drive in Lexington Park that destroyed a 1996 Mitsubishi Eclipse.
Henry Bernard Johnson, a 39-year-old black man, is described as 5’ 7” tall, and 215 pounds. His last known address was in the 1400 block of Somerset Place NW, Washington, DC.
Deputy State Fire Marshals obtained a warrant for Johnson charging him with second degree arson and reckless endangerment. Johnson is suspected of igniting the vehicle due to a failed relationship with the sister of the vehicle owner. Johnson was reportedly seen running from the burning vehicle by witnesses in the neighborhood.
The vehicle sustained an estimated $8,000 damage.
