CALIFORNIA (March 17, 2008) St. Mary's Sheriff's Deputies responded to this rollover of a Ford Explorer just before midnight on Rt. 4 at Fairgrounds Road.  Witnesses told police that five persons fled from the wreck after tossing something into nearby woods.   Two persons who were on the scene when police arrived refused medical treatment. In other Saturday night action, a vehicle hit a utility pole and broke it off on Bayside Road near Lady Baltimore and left the scene before police could get on the scene.  Muddy tracks led down to St. Clements Shores.  Police got a description of the vehicle and prepared to track it down.   Police were also checking a report of an underage patron in the Club 911 in Mechanicsville.
