riend Defends Monks Inn Killer

Anthony Livers

To the Editor:
I know Anthony Livers… he’s not a bad kid.  He was a 20 year old black male in a county where black = criminal.  When you are raised to think you are bad, you will be bad.  However, he only shot the guy because he’d been abusing a woman.  What man, regardless of race, would not do what it took to defend a woman from an attacker?
We need to be very careful before we judge.  Anthony would be welcome in my home any time.  If the judge released him today, I would welcome him into my home.  He’s not evil – he’s just as much a victim of our society as anyone else.
I wish every one could know the Anthony I know….he could be a productive member of society if only someone before this tragic event had intervened.  He could still be….One criminal act when one is only 20 does not mean he is trash for life.  With people who care about him, love him, and pray for him, Anthony could become a productive member of society….it is up to the rest of us to ensure that happens….or we are no better than the worst among us.
Anthony, I love you, am praying for you, and think of you constantly…keep your eye focused on the ball and remember that many do not actually start their lives until they are in their 40s.  You still have time to make a positive difference.

Murder is a Biggie That Will Haunt Him Forever

Mr. Link:
To say  "He was a 20 year old black male in a county where black = criminal." is a excuse to get someone to feel sorry for him.

You said "When you are raised to think you are bad, you will be bad" that is his parents and other adults who were around when he was brought up to think that... .

"However, he only shot the guy because he'd been abusing a woman.  What man, regardless of race, would not do what it took to defend a woman from an attacker? "
The problems with My age group (I'm 27) and younger is everything has to be solved with a gun.

"I wish every one could know the Anthony I know. He could be a productive member of society if only someone before this tragic event had intervened."
Why didn't you step up and help him get is life in order.... I can guess this was not his first time with a gun or in trouble with the law.

"He could still be. One criminal act when one is only 20 does not mean he is trash for life."
Murder that's a biggie that will haunt him for ever.

" With people who care about him, love him, and pray for him, Anthony could become a productive member of society. Its is up to the rest of us to ensure that happens or we are no better than the worst among us."
Its not up to any one but him to want to change his life.. He is the only one that will make his self a productive member of society.
