Boozing More Important than Driving

Man charged with DWI was already ordered by Judge to have a interlocking devise on his car in order to drive...but he didn't.

CHARLOTTE HALL ---   St. Mary's Sheriff's Lt. Terry Black, commander of the patrol division, reports that on 09/06/07 Deputy Maquire initiated a vehicle stop on Three Notch Road, Charlotte Hall for a traffic violation.

Upon making contact with the operator of the vehicle, William C. Weeks, Jr. age 57, of Brooklyn, Maryland Deputy Maquire detected the odor of an alcoholic beverage emitting from the operators person.

Mr. Weeks was unable to satisfactorily complete the administered field sobriety tests and was placed under arrest.

A check of Mr. Week’s Maryland Drivers License revealed Mr. Weeks was required to have an ignition interlocking device on vehicles he operates.  The vehicle being operated by Mr. Weeks was not equipped with the device.

Mr. Weeks was subsequently charged with Driving while Intoxicated, Driving in Violation of License Restriction, Fail to Drive Right of Center, incarcerated in the Detention Center pending an appearance before the District Court Commissioner.
