Cops say this woman, Nancy Martha Ahearn, took aim on deputy,
attempted to fire gun at him several times...come on people, cops have every right to go to work and expect to return home to their families without being shot at by deranged bozos who are off their meds...
EVERYONE in this nation is not entitled to cause any mayhem that they please without there being repercussions...like JAIL!

LEONARDTOWN (March 25, 2009) --- On March 20, 2009 at approximately 9:43 am deputies responded to a residence on Quiet Lane in Leonardtown, Maryland to check the welfare of Nancy Martha Ahearn, 35 of Leonardtown, Maryland.  Deputy J. Labrack made contact with Ahearn and her eighteen month old child.

During the contact Deputy Labrack’s attention was temporarily diverted when the child pulled a book shelf over onto himself.

Police say that as Deputy Labrack was assisting the child, Ahearn went to a closet, retrieved a handgun and pointed it in the direction of Deputy Labrack.

As Deputy Labrack was retreating to a position of cover, Ahearn tracked his movement with the handgun.  While behind cover, Deputy Labrack observed Ahearn pull the trigger of the handgun which was still pointed in his direction.  The handgun failed to fire more then once.

Deputy Labrack was able to disarm and subdue Ahearn.  Ahearn was transported to St. Mary’s Hospital for an evaluation.  On March 25, 2009 Nancy Ahearn was charged with attempted murder and first degree assault.

A check of criminal records in Maryland does not reveal any prior criminal charges against Ahearn.
