Hoyer back in Southern Maryland after taking

shellacking over health care in New York ...will

he get any better reception?

PRINCE FREDERICK (Aug. 6, 2009) --- Rep. Steny Hoyer will be back in his district to
talk about health care, but the roundtable discussion at Calvert Hospital is...closed to the public...following his being lambasted in New York on Tuesday when he showed up in Utica, N.Y. to preach about the advantages of high speed rail as a way to improve and develop the economy

Public cut out of Hoyer health care roundtable
Since Congressman Hoyer is unavailable to meet with the public at Calvert Memorial, where he will arrive  at 2:30 pm for a meeting with health care professionals, perhaps protesters who are afraid of what may happen to their health care may appear with signs.
Since the White House and the Democrats are mounting a character assassination campaign against those who are furious over the lack of planning, answers or truth over the health care secret plans of President Obama, Hoyer, who has enjoyed immense personal popularity in this district just might find out how pissed off folks are over the baloney being laid out in Washington, D.C.
Will Calvert Hospital officials block the public from holding up protest signs in order to 'protect' U. S. Rep. Hoyer from hearing from his constituents?  If so, protesters can stand on the side of Rt. 4 which is public property.

TOUR/BRIEFING/ROUNDTABLE CALVERT MEMORIAL HOSPITAL
Later in the afternoon from 2:30 to 3:45 p.m., Rep. Hoyer will visit Calvert Memorial Hospital. First he will be at a briefing and a demonstration of the Maryland eCare program which uses innovative technology to improve the safety and care of ICU patients in the district. That will be followed by a tour of the new Emergency Department. Finally Rep. Hoyer will conclude with a roundtable discussion with hospital officials and health providers to discuss the impact of health care reform legislation being considered in Congress on hospitals, patient care and health outcomes.

WHERE: 100 Hospital Road
Prince Frederick, MD

WHEN: 2:30 to 3:45 p.m.
2:30-3:00: Tour & Demonstration of E ICU/Emergency Room
3:00-3:45: Roundtable with Department Chairs on HC Reform

NOTE: This is a private event, not open to the public. Media is welcome, but must check in at the hospital front desk.

CALVERT COUNTY CANCER GALA
Finally, at 5:30 p.m. in the evening, Rep. Hoyer will greet attendees at the annual Calvert County Cancer Gala to raise funds and awareness for efforts to combat cancer in the community.

WHERE: Rod n Reel Restaurant
4165 Mears Avenue
Chesapeake Beach, MD

WHEN: 5:30 to 7:30 p.m.
5:30 to 7:30 p.m., Pre-event reception
7:30-10:00 p.m., Public event

Hoyer will attend the Cancer Gala at the Rod n Reel at 5:30 pm Thursday and anyone paying the admission is free to show up and give a piece of their mind to Steny while helping to find a cure for cancer.

Democrats say that Americans speaking up at Town Hall meetings
are part of a 'mob'.

Why are Obama and Hoyer afraid of old ladies asking questions
about drastic changes to their health care?
Why is Steny hiding in the hospital and not meeting with voters to hear about health
care from those who stand to lose their health care? Other Democrat Congressmen
are switching to the same strategy
to talk to hospital staffs instead of to the public.
Just in case you might think that you can vote Steny Hoyer out of office next year, note that the Republican running against him is a complete nut case.

Polls show majority opposed to health care tampering by Obama and Congress while President insists he will pass health care bill this year.

READER FEEDBACK:
It seems the protests planned to disrupt the town halls and keep REAL citizens' voices from being heard by their representatives may have hit a snag.   Apparently, the unions are going to the same town halls to help "keep order".  This should make for an interesting summer when bus-loads of tea-party white trash come in from out-of-state to clash with bus-loads of union thugs from out of state and converge on our town hall meetings.  Why don't you do something constructive with your paper and float the idea that people ought to be required to produce proof of their residence in a district (i.e. a driver's  license etc...) in order to get into the town hall meetings.  If you support the "Real ID" act certainly you can support an idea like that.

(Editor's Note: We have had union members from the Machinists Union resort and conference center in Hollywood, show up in a bus at a St. Mary's County Planning Commission public hearing to protest the request by Wal-Mart to expand the California Wal-Mart into the present Super Wal-Mart. While this newspaper pointed out the arrival of the union members to participate in the public hearing, they neither acted like 'thugs' or were characterized as such. It is very doubtful that any of those union members who showed up at the public hearing in Leonardtown lived in St. Mary's County. For members of the public to ask pointed questions and give politicians a piece of their mind is as American as apple pie and if Democrats can't take the heat, they should do as President Harry Truman said, and get out of the kitchen. Instead of hiding from the public, Steny Hoyer is very capable of hosting a public hearing and answering questions, even from those who strongly disagree with him. Let no American be kept from attending a public meeting. To call those who ask Congressman Hoyer questions, 'white trash' is simply racist.)

Hoyer heckled in Utica, New York over

stimulus program, health care changes

U. S. Rep. Steny Hoyer (D. Md.  5th), the Majority Leader of the House of Representatives, lectures a man who confronted him in the Union Station in
Utica, New York as he accompanied Rep. Mike Acuri on a trip to the city
stumping for a new high speed train line in upstate New York. Hoyer, who has
yet to work any magic on advancing the cause of commuter rail in his own home district here in Maryland, emphasized the importance of good rail to improve
 the economy.

Hoyer urges trains for upstate New York but nothing but broken promises for his own district....here Hoyer poses on railroad tracks in Waldorf which only has a coal train, expanding the carbon footprint, each day.  Hoyer and Gov. O'Malley posed with local legislators promising commuter rail to the region if voters would elect them in 2006. With all the money which has been tossed around in Washington in the past year, it appears that a modest amount would be available for establishing commuter rail in Southern Maryland.

Even though a real nut case is running against Steny Hoyer for Congress...remember...people in Minnesota actually voted for a third rate comedien to be their U. S. Senator...
