After reading your recent
article about students standing for the National Anthem I
just want to commend all attendees at the Huntingtown
Basketball Tournament this past weekend who stood for each
and every playing of the National Anthem. There was a time
when you could hear a pin drop in the gym as the Anthem was
playing. Every student stood, every hat was removed and
every mouth ws closed! The teams, family and friends were
from Huntingtown, Patuxent, Calvert and Northern High
Schools.These four schools should be very proud of the
student body that came out to represent their schools and
show that there are kids who believe in what the National
Anthem and our flag represents and what is to be done when
it is played at the games.
Again--Job well done to all that attended
the tournament!
