Midnight Building Supply Back in Business

WHITE PLAINS --- (Dec. 9, 2008) Charles County Sheriff's spokesman Diane Richardson reports that on Dec. 8 at 6:45 a.m., officers responded to the 10300 block of Theodore Green Boulevard in White Plains for the report of a burglary. Investigation revealed sometime between Dec. 7 at 12 p.m. and Dec. 8 at 6:45 a.m., unknown suspect's broke into a business and stole building supplies. Officer D. Butler is investigating.

Burglars Flee from Cops; Long Arm of Law Stretches Long Enough

WALDORF ---- Cops say that wanna-be burglars weren't quite quick enough to get away from their fleetfooted patrol officers.  Police report that on Dec. 8 at 12:36 a.m., Charles County Sheriff’s officers responded to Scooter Express, 11800 Park Waldorf Lane, Waldorf, for the report of alarm activation. Upon arrival, officers found the glass on the front door had been shattered. A responding officer observed two suspicious vehicles in the area – a U-Haul and an SUV. He attempted to initiate a traffic stop but both vehicles fled. The driver of the U-Haul turned into the Jaycees parking lot and two occupants bailed out of the truck, leaving it in drive. An assisting officer managed to get inside the truck and stop it before it struck the building. The other officer pursued the suspects on foot and apprehended one subject. A K-9 officer tracked the second suspect a short distance away and apprehended him without incident. The SUV fled the area. The suspects, Elliott Michael Knox, Jr., 21, of no fixed address and a 15-year-old male from Severn, were charged with second-degree burglary, fourth-degree burglary, destruction of property, and conspiracy to commit burglary. Investigation revealed the suspects were unable to steal anything prior to police arrival. Officer Gross and Cpl. Freeman made the arrests. Officer Goddard prevented the truck from crashing into the building and Officer Walden is handling the investigation.

Nasty grams left on driveway
WALDORF ---
On Dec. 7 at 4:30 p.m., officers responded to the 5000 block of Damselfish Court in Waldorf for the report of a vandalism. Investigation revealed between Dec. 6 at 11 p.m. and Dec. 7 at 4:20 p.m., an unknown suspect spray painted racial and ethnic epithets on the victim’s driveway. Officers conducted a canvass and found no other incidents had been reported. Deadbolt defeated burglars
WALDORF --- On Dec. 6 at 3:20 p.m., officers responded to the 2300 block of Tawny Drive in Waldorf for the report of an attempted burglary. Through investigation it was discovered that unknown suspect(s) attempted to gain entry to the victim’s residence by breaking the glass out of the back patio door. Entry was not gained because the deadbolt lock required a key to unlock the door. The exterior pane of the kitchen window was also broken. The victim advised this occurred on Dec. 5 between 5:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. Officer J. Dodge is handling the investigation.

STRONG-ARM ROBBERY:
WALDORF --- Police say that on Dec. 4 at 8:50 p.m., Charles County Sheriff’s officers responded to Broadbill Circle in Waldorf for the report of a robbery. Investigation revealed the victim was walking on Broadbill Circle when two suspects came from behind, assaulted him and stole his MP3 player. The suspects fled the area on foot.
