Dark and Deadly: Lexington Park neighborhoods under siege by
armed robbers; man shot during robbery in his driveway
| Two black males wearing black hoodies, attempted to rob a resident of the Essex South neighborhood on Scarborough Drive when he parked in his driveway. They were armed with a gun.......the robbers fled back towards Essex Drive...Cops are a lot smarter than they used to be when responding to a robbery. In the old days when Voorhaar was Sheriff, the cops would all respond to the scene of the crime and stand around, letting the bad guys beat feet. On this night, the cops spread out and took up various points of patrol in the area and fanned out to look for the armed robbers...lets hope they catch these hoodlums and send them on to their chosen career paths leading to prison.... This attack on residents of the Essex South neighborhood marks the first time in the modern days of Lexington Park that armed attacks have taken place during robberies in single family neighborhoods. This new type of attack is contrasted with that of a man who was murdered two years ago during a robbery at the Liberty Street area apartment project known as St. Mary's Landing.
