A Pox on Vick, Send Him to Jail, Let NAACP Butt Out;
Any Dog Trained to Kill, Will

To the Editor:
I agree with the comments posted online as with ANY BREED of dogs if the pet owner doesn't teach their dog basic obedience, then they can be aggressive.  This training starts when they are a puppy.  My Pit Bull is 4 years old now and has never shown any aggression towards other dogs, or humans.  She will just lick them to death.  If any dog should be called out it should be the "lap dog" breads.  These dogs aggression towards other dogs and even humans at times are very aggressive.  This fact is over looked though because of there size and "how cute they are".  Pit Bulls only have the reputation they have because of the sickening dog fights that have an still take place.  Pits are a very strong bread which is why they are used for that reason.  An animal of any kind will act the way they are trained...period.
 As far as the Michael Vick case he should get the chair much like the dogs that he killed and rot in hell.  Even more so, that he is suppose to be a "role model" for young children growing up.  The question is this....Is Michael Vicks life that sad that he feels he needed to be apart of this act??  Someone with his money and status in the NFL should have the sense and respect to his fans not to par-take in such activitie.  Of course we know the verdict, he will be on the football field soon enough, and of course the NAACP can't keep there nose out of anything & let justice be heard.  Just once.....God forbid!!

If a pit bull is bad, blame the owner

To the Editor:
My adult son got a pit bull puppy almost 3 years ago, and I was horrified because of the bad rap they had. It didn't take long for me to fall in love with "Sachmo" who turned out to be the best dog our family has every had. He is friendly and loves people and I trust him more than I do our family pet who is a "Dalmatian" and has attacked more dogs in the past 10 years then any dog I have owned my entire life. He is not a vicious dog, but he hates other dogs. Our pit is quite the opposite and doesn't seem to care one way or the other about stray dogs.
If a pit bull is bad, blame the owner, not the dog.

We need to raise awareness about this wonderful breed of dog. They are loyal, loving, and very intelligent. I would definitely get another one in the future.

Jail Any Dog Fighter, Including the Famous

To the Editor:
Any type of dog fighting is something we cannot tolerate in America, and if a famous person does get involved and then caught, well so be it. Put them in jail just the same. I hope Mr. Vick is innocent but if not I will gladly close his cell door on him and not lose any sleep.
If it were true, I would vote GUILTY

The Problem is Not the Pitbull Breed, The Problem is the Pet Owner

To the Editor:
As a pitbull owner it saddens me to see this every day seeing as Mike Vick is a professional athlete this case was catapulted into national headlines a pitbull is a loving caring breed looking for a loving caring family to take care of him. There are no such things as bad pets only bad pet owners if a pet owner cannot train or curb his pet than he should not be a pet owner. I believe the media can take part blame in the fire storm surrounding the breed it seems to me that they do not care about dog attacks unless it is a pitbull attack or some other strong breed. I guess according to the media pit bulls are the only breed of dog in the entire world that attack people or other dogs. My pit is a loving caring dog he is happy to see Me my Fiancé and our children at the end of every day. If we have visitors to our home he would rather lick them to death before hurting them. If some one were to break into my home he would watch rather than stop them. Seeing as Mr. Vick is a professional athlete and has plenty of money I guess he will be treated like every other super star in this country he will get a slap on the wrist his boys will most likely do all the time. When my pit goes to doggy heaven I have every intention of getting another pitbull I love this breed.
