Motorcyclist Killed by Turning Bus

HUGHESVILLE (July 22, 2008)  --- Maryland State Police report that on July 21, 2008 at approximately 6:34pm Mr. Charles Crew Sr. of Prince Frederick Maryland was the operator of a Keller Mass Transportation Charter Bus traveling S/B Md. Rt. 5 Leonardtown Rd. in the area of Gallant Green Rd. Hughesville Maryland.  Mr. Timmy Corman of Waldorf, Maryland was operating his 2006 Suzuki motorcycle northbound on Leonardtown Rd. just south of Gallant Green Rd.  Mr. Crew attempted to make a left turn onto Gallant Green Rd. At that instant the Suzuki operated by Mr. Corman collided with the charter bus in the northbound lanes of travel. Due to the collision, Mr. Corman received fatal injuries and was pronounced deceased on the scene. Mr. Crew received minor injuries but was not transported from the scene. The charter bus was not occupied by any other passengers at the time of the collision. Tfc. John Edelen and investigators from the Maryland State Police Crash Team will continue the investigation. No charges have been filed at this time.
