One Stroke in the Heat Leads to Chopper Flight

LEXINGTON PARK (July 23, 2008) St. Mary's Sheriff's Lt. Ricky Burris reports that on July 22nd at approximately 6 p.m., a family of four was traveling on Lexwood Drive in Lexington Park. Paul W. Gleason, 37 years of age, with no fixed address, was standing in the roadway and began banging on the family’s vehicle and rear window, where the 30 year old male operator’s 10 year old daughter was seated.  The vehicle operator got out of the vehicle to see what was wrong with Gleason and Gleason aggressively came toward him. The vehicle operator struck Gleason one time, knocking him to the ground. Gleason received a head injury and was flown to Prince George’s Shock Trauma where he is listed in stable condition. St. Mary County BCI detectives are continuing their investigation and the case will be reviewed by the State’s Attorney’s Office.
