Two Arrested
After Fleeing from Police
A man and woman were
arrested on Monday, April 21 after they
fled from police in a stolen vehicle.
Officers attempted to stop a 2007 Ford
Explorer at Franconia Road and Thomas
Drive around 3:25 p.m. The vehicle did
not stop and a pursuit was initiated.
During the pursuit, the driver of the
stolen vehicle rammed a police cruiser.
The suspect continued to flee and struck
other police and citizens’ vehicles. The
pursuit continued on to the outer loop
of Interstate 495. The male driver
bailed out prior to Telegraph Road and
was apprehended moments later. The woman
was also taken into custody. One officer
sustained non life-threatening injuries
during the pursuit and was transported
to Inova HealthPlex
Franconia-Springfield. No citizens were
injured.
Brian Gomez, 31, of Fort
Washington, Maryland, and Georgette
Hodge, 26, of Oxon Hill, Maryland, were
arrested and transported to the Fairfax
County Adult Detention Center. Gomez was
charged with grand larceny, malicious
wounding, attempted malicious wounding,
felony eluding police, no operator’s
license and two counts of felony hit and
run. Hodge was charged with grand
larceny.
