Speeding to Jail for Drugs

ORAVILLE --- State Police report that on Wednesday, January 23, 2008 at 12:50 pm, Ryan Andrew Murray, 22 of Mechanicsville was arrested by TFC M. Laney for possession of CDS paraphernalia.  Mr. Murray was operating a teal Ford Escort on south bound Route 235 in the area of Morganza Turner Road in Mechanicsville when he was stopped for exceeding the posted speed limit.  During the course of the traffic stop Murray was found to be in possession of CDS paraphernalia.  He was charged on a Criminal Citation and given a Preliminary Inquiry court date of February 8, 2008.  Mr. Murray was released at the scene. 

 

      Teens Target Traffic with Tangerines

CALIFORNIA  --- Maryland State Police report that two teens didn’t know that they were supposed to eat their tangerines, not toss them at traffic.  On Wednesday, January 23, 2008 at 2:02 pm, TFC K. Shughart and Tpr. E. Page responded to a reported Malicious Destruction of Property in the 26000 block of Myrtle Point Road in California.  Contact was made with the male complainant, of California, who advised he was driving his blue Ford F250 truck when two male juveniles, ages 15 and 11 threw tangerines from the wood line and struck his struck.  The juveniles were located at their residence and charged with Malicious Destruction of Property and Reckless Endangerment.  The bozo kids were released to their parents pending further action by Juvenile Services and proper instructions on the use and care of citrus products.

 

      Cocaine Lands Pair in Clink

LEONARDTOWN --- State Police report that on Wednesday, January 23, 2008 at 3:46 pm, Joseph Alton Bailey, 3rd, 41, of Loveville and Calvin Aloysius Edelen Jr., 34, of Hollywood were arrested by Tpr. B. McCartney for possession of Cocaine and possession of CDS paraphernalia.  Mr. Bailey was operating a brown Chevrolet Cavalier on Route 245 in Leonardtown when he was stopped because the passenger, Edelen was not restrained by his seat belt.  During the course of the traffic stop, a small bag of Cocaine and one homemade CDS smoking device were found in the vehicle.  Both Bailey and Edelen were transported to the St. Mary’s County Detention Center where they were detained pending a bond review. 

 

      Crack Pipe Standard Equipment in This Vehicle

LEONARDTOWN --- State Police report that on Wednesday, January 23, 2008 at 10:19 pm, Andrew Dwight Rambler, 41, of La Plata was arrested by TFC M. Grimes for possession of CDS.  Rambler was operating a green Ford Ranger when he was stopped on Route 5 at Maypole Road in Leonardtown for exceeding the posted speed limit.  A routine check of NCIC revealed Rambler had an outstanding warrant through the Charles County Sheriff’s Office.  Rambler was taken into custody for the warrant.  A search incident to the arrest revealed Rambler was in possession of a glass CDS smoking device with burnt Cocaine residue.  Rambler was charged with possession of CDS and transported to the St. Mary’s County Detention Center where he was held pending a bond review and release to the Charles County Sheriff’s Office. 

 

Suspended License Didn’t Keep This Cool Cat from Driving

      COUNTRY LAKES  ---  State Police report that on Thursday, January 24, 2008 at 5:10 pm, Kevin Antionne Makle, 24, of Mechanicsville was arrested by TFC J. Linger for driving on a suspended license and possession of Marijuana.   Makle was operating his green Ford Explorer on Yowaiski Mill Road when he was stopped for exceeding the posted speed limit.  During the course of the traffic stop a routine check through MVA revealed Makle’s driver’s license was suspended and he was taken into custody.  A search of the vehicle incident to the arrest revealed a partially burnt marijuana cigar in the vehicle.   Makle was transported to the St. Mary’s County Detention Center where he was detained pending a bond review.
