DRUG PARAPHERNALIA ARRESTS: On July 17 at 1:47 a.m., Charles County Sheriff’s officers stopped a vehicle in the 8500 block of Bowie Road in Nanjemoy after observing a traffic violation. Officers observed drug paraphernalia inside the car and arrested the driver, Raymond Taylor, Jr., 46, of Waldorf, and the passenger, John Hawkins, 42, of Waldorf. Taylor was charged with driving on a suspended and revoked license and both men were charged with possession of drug paraphernalia. Officer E. Weaver investigated.

BURGLARY/RECOVERED STOLEN AUTO ARRESTS: On July 16 at 2:15 a.m., Charles County Sheriff’s officers responded to Gardiner Equipment the 11700 block of Vernon Road in Waldorf for the report of a burglary in progress. When officers arrived, they observed the suspects trying to steal an ATV from the business. The suspects attempted to flee but were apprehended a short distance away. Further investigation revealed the suspects drove to Charles County in a car stolen from Prince George’s County. The car was recovered on Holly Auto Center Lane. The suspects, Nathaniel Joshua King, 26, of Washington, D.C., Marlin Antwoine Nichols, 20, of Arlington, Va., and Letrace Guy Green, 23, of Washington, D.C., were charged with burglary, destruction of property, unlawful taking of a motor vehicle and rogue and vagabond. They were remanded to the Charles County Detention Center with $50,000 bond. Det. A. Schwab is investigating.

STOLEN AUTO ARRESTS:
On July 15 at 7:55 p.m., Charles County Sheriff’s officers received information that Randy Allen Forgette, 34, of Annapolis was going to try to sell stolen motorcycles to a pawn shop in the 3100 block of Leonardtown Road. in Waldorf. Officers responded to the shop and observed two motorcycles in the suspect’s pickup truck. A check revealed the motorcycles were  stolen in Anne Arundel County. Forgette was arrested and charged with motor vehicle theft. He was remanded to the Charles County Detention Center. Officer J. McKenzie investigated.

On July 15 at 6:25 p.m., Charles County Sheriff’s officers working an auto theft detail located a stolen vehicle in the parking lot of a shopping center in the 12500 block of Mattawoman Beantown Road in Waldorf. Officers attempted to stop the driver but he jumped out of the car and fled. The driver, a 17-year-old Waldorf male, was apprehended and charged with unlawful taking of a motor vehicle, theft over $500, and driving without a license. He was remanded to a juvenile facility. Officer D. Gross investigated.

Dreadlock bandit robbed woman getting her mail
On July 15 at 5:12 p.m., Charles County Sheriff’s officers responded to the 4200 block of Drake Court in Waldorf for the report of a citizen armed robbery. Investigation revealed that the suspect approached a woman as she was getting her mail, displayed a handgun and demanded money. The victim complied and the suspect fled in a vehicle occupied by two other males.

The suspect is described as a black male with a thin build and dreadlocks. Anyone with information should call the Major Crimes Unit at 301-609-6481. Drug dealer given 20 years in slammer

 

    LEONARDTOWN (July 14, 2008) --- The St. Mary’s County State’s Attorney’s Office and the St. Mary’s County BCI Vice Narcotics Division announce the adjudication of the listed Narcotics cases.

         Thomas Darnell Evans was sentenced to 20 years in the Department of Corrections for Possession of Cocaine with the Intent to Distribute. Upon his release he will have three (3) years supervised probation.

         Robert Maurice Scriber had two (2) pending charges. On the first he was sentenced to four (4) years in the Department of Corrections for Possession of Cocaine. In the second, he was sentenced to seven (7) years in the Department of Corrections and the two sentences shall run CONSECUTIVE.

         John Edward Colleary was sentenced to 4 years in the Department of Corrections for Possession with Intent to Distribute Cocaine.

Current Pending Charges:

         Patricia Kay Johnson (Age 42 of Lexington Park) was charged with Maintaining a Common Nuisance related to Drug Activity. For years Law Enforcement has responded to her various Lexington Park homes for crimes related to drug activity. She is out on her Personal Recognizance awaiting a Preliminary Hearing in the District Court.

Revenge Motive for Arson of Ford

WALDORF — Deputy State Fire Marshals have charged a Waldorf woman with 2nd degree arson and malicious destruction of property. The charges stem from an intentionally set fire which destroyed a 2002 Ford Escort owned by Sheila Dandy. The June 19, 2008 fire occurred in the 3800 block of Kelly Green Place and caused an estimated $3,000.00 damage to the car.

Investigators determined Natasha Theresa Thompson; 21 years old from the 5000 block of Vane Court set fire to the car for revenge. Ms. Thompson and Ms. Dandy were acquaintances and were involved in an argument earlier in the evening.

Thompson was arrested at her home this afternoon without incident by Deputy State Fire Marshals and deputies with the Charles County Sheriff’s Office.

She currently is being held at the Charles County Detention Center pending her initial appearance before a District Court Commissioner.
