ARMED ROBBERY: On July 8 at 10:17 p.m., Charles County Sheriff’s officers responded to the 6600 block of Crain Highway in La Plata for the report of an armed robbery at a gas station.  Investigation revealed that two suspects entered the business, approached a clerk, displayed a handgun and demanded money. The victim complied and the suspects fled on foot. Although the suspects escaped, a Charles County K-9 officer and his K-9 partner, Erno, tracked the area and recovered some of the stolen money.

 

The suspects are described as white males in their late teens or early twenties. They were wearing masks, tee shirts and shorts. Anyone with information about this case is asked to call Detective G. Higgs at (301) 609-6498. Callers wishing to remain anonymous may call Crime Solvers at 1-866-411-TIPS. A cash reward of up to $1,000 is being offered for the tip that leads to the arrest and indictment of the suspects.

Salt & Pepper Robbers Injure Teen in Cell Phone Robbery 
On July 8 between 10 a.m. and 12 p.m., Charles County Sheriff’s officers responded to the 12500 block of Council Oak Drive in Waldorf for the report of an attempted robbery. Investigation revealed that the victim, a 16-year-old Waldorf male, and a friend were walking toward an apartment building when they were approached by three suspects. The suspects began assaulting the victim and attempted to steal his cell phone. The victim broke free and fled. He was treated at a nearby hospital for minor injuries.

One of the suspects is described as a white male in his late teens, 6’0”, slim build, and wearing a black hooded shirt with a white skull on the front. The other two suspects are described as black males in their late teens. One is 5’5”, has a slim build, and was wearing an orange or tan hooded shirt and a black skull cap. A detailed description of the other suspect is not available. Officer J. Clagett is investigating.

DESTRUCTION OF PROPERTY: On July 8 at 6:14 A.M., Charles County Sheriff’s officers responded to Golfarama at 5075 Crain Highway in La Plata for the report of vandalism. Investigation revealed that during the early morning hours, the suspect(s) entered the driving range and spray painted symbols on the side of a garage located at the rear of the property. Officer P. Hood is investigating.
