Police want armed robber to claim lost watch

possible that robber may have dropped Rolex during robbery, call to claim the watch won't count against robber

DUNKIRK --- In a display of openness, it may be that a robber dropped a Rolex watch while holding up a local store and police are willing to give it back, no questions asked, if the robber will call them and arrange a time to pick it up.

On Sunday, June 28 at approximately 1:30 a.m. an unknown suspect entered the 7-11 Convenience store at 2849 Chesapeake Beach Road West in Dunkirk and robbed the store clerk at gunpoint.

The clerk advised Det. Scott Brown of the Criminal Investigative Team that she observed a black male,  wearing a mask over his face, approach her with a gun and ask for money.

She gave the suspect an undisclosed amount of money from the store cash register and he left without further incident, traveling south on foot at the rear of the business.

The suspect is described as approximately 6 feet tall and was wearing blue jeans and a black sweatshirt.

Anyone with information is asked to contact Det. Scott Brown at 410-535-2800, ext. 2456.   The robber may call the same number to claim the Rolex.
