Beating While Boozing, Say Police

LEONARDTOWN — St. Mary’s Sheriff’s Sgt. Steve Hall reports that on January 10, 2008 just after 8:00PM, Deputy Cathcart was called to a residence in Leonardtown, Maryland for a domestic disturbance. Police say that their investigation revealed the suspect, Mark Andrew Alvey Sr., 42, of Leonardtown, Maryland was intoxicated and assaulted the fourteen (14) year old victim by grabbing her arms and violently shaking her. Alvey was placed under arrest and charged with Child Abuse and Assault 2nd Degree. He was transported to the Detention Center pending a bond hearing before the District Court Commissioner.

Big Mouth Lands Man in Clink

GREAT MILLS — St. Mary’s Sheriff’s deputies say that were trying to look into a complaint on January 9, 2008 Officers from the Sheriff Office responded to the area of Dee Court Great Mills, Maryland to assist EMS and investigate a possible assault. While attempting to gain information, the suspect, David Logan Scopin, 22, of Great Mills, Maryland repeatedly interrupted the officers by yelling profanities. Scopin was advised by officers to stop which he failed to do. He was arrested by Deputy Chimko-Fahey and charged with Hindering and transported to Detention Center pending a bond hearing before the District Court Commissioner.

Bonneville going side to side reveals drunk driver with cocaine

LEXINGTON PARK — On Friday, December 28, 2007 at 9:39 pm, Andrew Edward Goldstein, 44, of Lexington Park was arrested by Tpr. C. Evans for possession of Cocaine and CDS paraphernalia. Mr. Goldstein was operating a white Pontiac Bonneville when he was stopped for failing to drive in a single lane.

During the course of the traffic stop, contact was made with the driver, Goldstein and a strong odor of an alcoholic beverage was emitting from his breath.

Goldstein was subsequently arrested for DUI. A search incident to his arrest, revealed Mr. Goldstein was in possession of Cocaine and CDS paraphernalia. He was transported to the St. Mary’s County Detention Center where he was detained pending a bond review.

LEXINGTON PARK — On Tuesday, January 1, 2008 at 5:28 am, Damon Jerome Estep, 32, of California was arrested for driving on a suspended license and Jerry Jerome Estep, 38, of California was arrested for possession of Cocaine. TFC E. Evans initiated a traffic stop on a green Dodge Intrepid on Route 246, in the area of Saratoga Drive in Lexington Park for an equipment violation. During the course of the traffic stop, a routine MVA check revealed Damon Estep’s driving privileges were suspended. Contact was made with the passenger, Jerry Jerome Estep who was found to be in possession of Cocaine. Both subjects were transported to the St. Mary’s County Detention Center where they were detained pending a bond review.
