Think Twice Before Putting Money in Donation Boxes as Thieves Like Them Real Good!

LEXINGTON PARK — State Police say that a local man boosted a charity donation box; taken on Saturday, April 12, 2008 at 1:04 am, TFC M. Moore responded to the WAWA Convenience Store at 21265 Great Mills Road in Lexington Park for the reported Theft in progress. Upon arrival, contact was made with the female complainant who advised an unknown black male, approximately 5’09" and 180 lbs entered the store and stole a donation box from the store counter and fled out of the store to the rear of the establishment. The complainant advised the donation box contained between $100.00 and $500.00 in cash. At this time there are no known suspects and the investigation continues.

Man Arrested with Two Bags of Pot and Two Deadhead Teens to Boot

MECHANICSVILLE — On Saturday, April 12, 2008 at 10:59 pm, Michael Allen Smith, 18, of Mechanicsville and two male Juveniles ages 15 and 16 were arrested by TFC P. Trossbach for possession of Marijuana and possession CDS Paraphernalia. Smith was operating a red Dodge Dakota when he was stopped for failing to drive right of center. During the course of the traffic stop, two clear baggies of Marijuana and three CDS smoking devices were recovered from the vehicle. The male juveniles were charged and released to their parent/guardian pending further action by Juvenile Services. Smith was taken to the St. Mary’s County Detention Center where he was jailed pending a bond review.

Two Arrested for Burglary and Assault

MECHANICSVILLE — State Police say that two men broke into a home and committed assault. On Monday, April 14, 2008 at 12:56 am, Joseph John Burger, 25, of Hollywood and Bobby Jake Herbert, 23, of Mechanicsville were arrested by TFC L. Nims for 3rd Degree Burglary. TFC L. Nims responded to the 30000 block of Point Lookout Road in Mechanicsville for a reported Assault in progress. Upon arrival, contact was made with the male complainant who advised he was inside his residence with friends when both Mr. Burger and Mr. Herbert came to the door and knocked. When the door was opened, they forced their way into the residence and assaulted another male inside the residence. The complainant advised the two suspects left the residence. They were later located at the residence of Mr. Herbert. They were taken into custody and charged with Burglary 3rd Degree. They were transported to the St. Mary’s County Detention Center where they were detained pending a bond review.

The Devil Made Him Do It!

LEONARDTOWN — On Tuesday, April 15, 2008 at 1:55 am, Gary Flowers, 35, of Leonardtown was arrested by TFC L. Nims for Malicious Destruction of Property over $500.00. TFC L. Nims responded to 22000 block of Washington Street in Leonardtown for the reported disturbance outside the establishment. Upon arrival, contact was made with the suspect, Flowers and an overwhelming odor of an alcoholic beverage was emitting from his breath.

Flowers was interviewed concerning the damage done to tables outside the establishment. A female witness came forth and advised he broke the two patio tables and umbrella. Mr. Flowers was taken into custody and transported to the St. Mary’s County Detention Center where he was held pending a bond review.

Found with Drugs, Did the 5th Take the Fifth?

CALIFORNIA — On Tuesday, April 15, 2008 at 12:53 pm, police say that Edward Wilson Auld, 5th, 20 of Great Mills was arrested by Tpr. N. Gresko for possession of Marijuana and possession of CDS paraphernalia.

Auld was operating a black Toyota Scion on Route 235, south of Route 4 in California when he was stopped for an equipment violation. During the course of the traffic stop, Auld was found to be in possession of a clear plastic baggie of Marijuana and a multi colored glass smoking device. Auld was transported to the St. Mary’s County Detention Center where he was detained pending a bond review.

No Smoking Dope When Driving

HOLLYWOOD — State Police report that on Friday, April 18, 2008 at 7:13 pm, James Sherwood Davis, 3rd, 20, of Hollywood was arrested by TFC P. Trossbach for possession of Marijuana. Mr. Davis was operating a blue Ford Ranger when he was stopped at Clarks Landing Road and Mervell Dean Road in Hollywood for failing to drive in a single lane. During the course of the traffic stop, contact was made with Mr. Davis and a strong odor of burnt Marijuana was emitting from the vehicle. Mr. Davis was found to be in possession of a clear baggie of Marijuana and CDS paraphernalia. Mr. Davis was taken into custody and transported to the St. Mary’s County Detention Center where he was detained pending a bond review.

Alvin! Where’s the Ecstasy?

LEONARDTOWN — State Police say that right in front of the entrance to the county jail, on Saturday, April 19, 2008 at 2:42 am, Alvin Maurice Hunter, 25, of Washington, DC was arrested by TFC P. Trossbach for possession of CDS / commonly known as Ecstacy.

Hunter was a passenger in a red Nissan Altima when it was stopped on Route 245 at Leonard Hall Drive in Leonardtown for exceeding the posted speed limit.

During the course of the traffic stop, contact was made with Mr. Hunter and a strong odor of burnt Marijuana was emitting from his person and the vehicle.

Hunter was found to be in possession of three Ecstacy pills. He was taken into custody and transported to the St. Mary’s County Detention Center where he was detained pending a bond review.

Binger on Binge Nailed for Cocaine, Revoked and Suspended, Leads to $100,000 Bond

On Sunday, April 20, 2008 at 1:31 am, Richard Arthur Binger, Jr., 40, of Scotland was arrested by TFC P. Trossbach for DUI, Possession of Cocaine and Resisting Arrest and Fugitive Other Area. Binger was operating a gray Ford F-150 south bound on Route 5 in Ridge when he was stopped for exceeding the posted speed limit. During the course of the traffic stop, contact was made with Binger and a strong odor of an alcoholic beverage was emitting from his breath and person. Binger resisted arrest and was taken into custody. A search incident to the arrest revealed he was in possession of Cocaine. A routine check through NCIC/MVA revealed Mr. Binger had an outstanding warrant through the Anne Arundel County Sheriff’s Office in addition to driving on a suspended and revoked driver’s license.

Binger was transported to the St. Mary’s County Detention Center where he is being detained on $100,000.00 bond pending his court appear and release to the Anne Arundel County Sheriff’s Office.

Mutual Combat Gets Couple Honeymoon Suite at Hotel St. Mary’s

LEXINGTON PARK — A Lexington Park couple and can kiss and make up in jail after being hauled there last week. St. Mary’s Sheriff’s Lt. Terry Black reports that on 4/23/08 at 7:50 A.M. Dfc. J. Kirkner responded to Valley Drive Estates, Lexington Park, Md. for the report of an Assault. Investigation revealed Shanita Williams, age 31, of Lexington Park and Joseph D. Young, age 37, of Lexington Park were involved in a verbal dispute which escalated into a physical altercation. Williams and Young began assaulting each other inside the residence. Both subjects received minor injuries in the altercation. Williams and Young were placed under arrest, charged with Assault Second Degree and incarcerated in the Detention Center pending an appearance before the District Court Commissioner.

LEXINGTON PARK — Maryland State Police report that on Thursday, April 17, 2008 at 3:01 am, Shawn Michael Cook, 20, of Hollywood was arrested by Tpr. N. Gresko for possession of CDS / prescription medication not prescribed to him. Cook was a passenger in a gold Cadillac Deville when it was stopped on Route 235 at Rue Purchase Road in Lexington Park for an equipment violation. During the course of the traffic stop Mr. Cook was found to be in possession of one Suboxone pill, a Schedule III narcotic. Cook was transported to the St. Mary’s County Detention Center where he was detained pending a bond review.

Monkey Business in Picking up Prescriptions

CHARLOTTE HALL – Police report that on Monday, April 21, 2008 at 8:43 pm, Sandra Lee Jones, 50, of Chesapeake Beach was arrested by TFC R. Rezza for CDS Distribution, Obtaining Prescription Medication by Misrepresentation, possession of CDS-not Marijuana and Theft Under $500.00. During the course of the investigation, it was revealed that Ms. Jones provided a false name and forged the signature of the victim to obtain legitimate prescription from the Rite Aid Pharmacy in Charlotte Hall. Ms. Jones was taken into custody and transported to the St. Mary’s County Detention Center where she was held pending a bond review.

Trooper Nabs Wanted Man with Bad Tags, Bong and Someone Else’s Drugs

HERMANVILLE — Maryland State Police report that on Tuesday, April 22, 2008 at 10:11 am, Edwin Robert Moser, 32, of Lexington Park was arrested by Cpl. S. Koch for possession of Marijuana, CDS paraphernalia and Prescription Medication not prescribed to him. Mr. Moser was operating a tan Nissan Altima on north bound Route 235 in the area of Hermanville Road in Lexington Park when he was stopped for exceeding the posted speed limit. A routine check through NCIC and MVA revealed Mr. Moser had an outstanding warrant through the St. Mary’s County Sheriff’s Office. The Florida registration plates on the vehicle expired in November 2007. A search incident to the arrest revealed Moser was in possession of a glass smoking device containing Marijuana residue, a metal container with Marijuana residue and prescription medication not prescribed to him.

Moser was taken into custody and transported to the St. Mary’s County Detention Center where he was detained.
