Stolen Car Spree by Great Mills Teen

Auto Theft Gang ended by Cops

 

GREAT MILLS (Dec. 29, 2008) ---  According to Lt. Ricky Burris of the St. Mary’s County Bureau of Criminal Investigations, a joint investigation team of the State Police and the St. Mary's Sheriff's Department, a gang of local car thieves was nabbed after a spree of stealing cars over the Christmas holiday.

 During the early morning hours of Friday, December 26th two 17 year old juveniles and Justine Antonie Parker, 19 years of age, from Great Mills, stole three vehicles from Maria
Way, Great Mills Court, and Buckshot Way, in Lexington Park Maryland. The suspects then drove to California, Maryland, where they attempted four more car thefts but were unsuccessful. 
 
Three attempts were made on Woodstown Way and one was made on Laurel Glenn Rd.  Parker was located by Hyattsville Police department in one of the stolen vehicles on December 26th.

A second stolen vehicle was located abandoned on Treetop Road in Lexington Park on December 26th. 

An additional vehicle stolen from Prince George’s County, by the suspects,   was recovered in the Callaway Shopping Center on December 26th.  

On December 27, 2008 sheriff’s deputies observed the final stolen vehicle traveling on Great Mills Road and initiated a vehicle pursuit, which ended on Maria Way, where one juvenile passenger was apprehended and the juvenile driver fled and later turned himself in at the Sheriff’s Office. 

Both Juveniles, a 17 year old male from Bushwood and a 17 year old male from Lexington Park, were charged by BCI detectives with 4 counts of Motor Vehicle Theft and 4 counts of Property Destruction. Parker was charged with one count of Motor Vehicle Theft. Additional charges are pending.
