 Kid Charged with Setting Classmate’s Hair on Fire

SPRING RIDGE (Dec. 10, 2007) St. Mary's Sheriff's Sgt. Steven Hall reports that School Resource Officer Deputy First Class Eva Jones was notified of an assault at Spring Ridge Middle School. Her investigation revealed the thirteen year old (13) victim was in the hallway of the school when the suspect, also thirteen (13), pulled out a lighter, and set the victim’s hair on fire. The suspect was identified and placed under arrest by DFC Jones and charged with Assault 2^nd Degree and Disruption of School Activities. The juvenile was processed and released to the custody of a parent pending action by the Department of Juvenile Justice.
