Vicious Pit Bull Attacks Two
Calvert cops round up 3
Pits, put them in dog pen at
shelter
LUSBY (Feb. 26, 2009)---
Calvert Sheriff's officers
report that on February 25th
at approximately 08:55 a.m.
the owner of 3 Pit-Bull type
breed dogs reported that
they had gotten out of the
residence in the 300 block
of Pilot Way in Lusby. A
citizen in the neighborhood
was bitten by one of the
dogs, a blue and white
Pit-Bull.
Two of the three dogs then
went to Lake Drive where the
blue and white Pit-Bull bit
another citizen.
Police say that both citizens were treated for their injuries by
volunteers from the
Solomon's Volunteer Rescue
Squad and released on the
scene.
After about an hour of searching by numerous Animal Control Officers,
Deputy Sheriffs and a State
Trooper, all 3 dogs were
able to be secured without
further incident.
The blue and white Pit-Bull
was signed over and taken to
the Tri-County Animal
Shelter to be held for a
10-day quarantine that is
required whenever a human is
bitten.
The other 2 dogs were
removed from the property
and will also be held at the
shelter. This case is still
under investigation and
citations are pending for
the dogs’ owner.
