Woman Died of Injuries from Wreck into Tree

LA PLATA (Dec. 22, 2008)   Maryland State Police at La Plata report that a woman who was operating a vehicle that hit a tree after it left the traveled portion of  a Charles County highway died of her injuries on Dec. 19th. Police say that a preliminary investigation revealed that the woman's 1996 blue Honda Accord was traveling eastbound on Rt. 225 near Miller Hill Road when it left the highway and hit a tree.  This wreck took place at about 9:19 am and police say that the rainy weather and speed were a factor.

The woman was identified as Pamela Yvette Brooks, 52, of Indian Head.  Brooks was first taken to Civista in La Plata and later transferred to Washington Hospital Center where she died at 8:51 am the next day.
