Firefighter Charged with
Kiddie Porn
HUNTINGTOWN
(March 11, 2009) --- A
member of the Huntingtown
VFD in Calvert County, who
is also a career firefighter
with the City of Annapolis,
has been charged with
possession of child
pornography by the computer
crimes unit of the Maryland
State Police according to
State Police spokesman Sgt.
Betts.
Daniel
Clinton Cox, 26, of Armiger
Road in Huntingtown, was
arrested on Jan. 28, 2009 by
the Maryland State Police
and according to Huntingtown
VFD President Gene Farrell
who told ST. MARY'S TODAY
that Cox has been placed on
administrative suspension.
Cox is listed
as one of the operational
officers of the Huntingtown
department and is designated
as an engineer.
Annapolis
City Fire Department
spokesman Capt. Kelly Martin
told ST. MARY'S TODAY that
as soon as the agency was
aware of the arrest that Cox
was immediately suspended
and an internal
investigation is underway
with the matter being
referred to the personnel
office.
The computer
crimes unit of the state
police tracks cases in
Maryland and across the
nation in an attempt to
interdict the selling and
purchasing of child
pornography and to curtail
the use of children in
making such pornography.
