RESCUES WINDSURFER

 
 

PORTSMOUTH, Va. - (November 17, 2006) Coast Guard crews from Air Station Elizabeth City, N.C., and the Coast Guard Cutter Cochito, an 87-foot patrol boat homeported at Station Little Creek, rescued Jeffrey Ball, 39, of Virginia Beach, Va.,  while he was clinging to his surfboard about 10 miles southeast of Fisherman's Island, near Cape Charles, Va. Ball was spotted by a HH-60 Jay Hawk rescue helicopter. He had been missing since last night.
