Woman Slashed to Death by
Sister-in-Law in Front of 3 Kids
WALDORF --- A Waldorf woman was slashed to death
in front of three small children February 10 at 2:36 a.m., reports the Charles County
Sheriff's Department, who had been furious that her sister-in-law had let her
estranged husband hide out from the crazy woman at her home. She was caught by police in
southeast Washington later that day.

Tonya Rollins, of Prince George's County,
arrested for the murder of her sister-in-law
Sheriffs Officers responded to a residence in the 2600 block of Stanford Place in
Waldorf for the stabbing report. Upon arrival, officers found Faye Denise Rollins Green,
34, suffering from stab wounds.
Green was transported to Civista Medical Center, where she was pronounced dead at 3:38
a.m.
Detectives responded to the scene learned the suspect entered the home, which was occupied
by the victim and her three children, two girls, ages 8 and 10, and an 11-year-old boy.
The suspect confronted the victim, stabbed her multiple times and fled the scene. The
children were not physically injured and called 911 when the suspect left the home.
During the investigation, detectives developed a suspect, Tonya Hawkins Rollins, 37, of
Upper Marlboro. Detectives have learned of an on-going domestic dispute between Rollins
and Green. Rollins was angry that her estranged husband had been refuge from her by his
Green, his sister. Police say that Tonya Rollins had been cruising the home over the
weekend, jumped on her husband's vehicle and broken out a window of the home, all because
her husband had sought shelter at the residence.
A warrant for First Degree Murder was issued for Rollins arrest.
Rollins will be extradited back to Maryland to stand trial for murder.
