Tonya Rollins, of Prince George's County,
arrested for the murder of her sister-in-law

Sheriff’s Officers responded to a residence in the 2600 block of Stanford Place in Waldorf for the stabbing report. Upon arrival, officers found Faye Denise Rollins Green, 34, suffering from stab wounds.
Green was transported to Civista Medical Center, where she was pronounced dead at 3:38 a.m.
Detectives responded to the scene learned the suspect entered the home, which was occupied by the victim and her three children, two girls, ages 8 and 10, and an 11-year-old boy. The suspect confronted the victim, stabbed her multiple times and fled the scene. The children were not physically injured and called 911 when the suspect left the home.
During the investigation, detectives developed a suspect, Tonya Hawkins Rollins, 37, of Upper Marlboro. Detectives have learned of an on-going domestic dispute between Rollins and Green. Rollins was angry that her estranged husband had been refuge from her by his Green, his sister. Police say that Tonya Rollins had been cruising the home over the weekend, jumped on her husband's vehicle and broken out a window of the home, all because her husband had sought shelter at the residence.
A warrant for First Degree Murder was issued for Rollins’ arrest.
Rollins will be extradited back to Maryland to stand trial for murder.
