Agnes Marguerite Dalton Rhodes, 89
Agnes Marguerite Dalton Rhodes, 89 of Lexington Park, MD died on Wednesday, September 1, 2004 at the residence of her son Harry Dalton of Hollywood, MD.

Born on March 10, 1915 in Dameron, MD, she was the daughter of the late Frank and Barbara Magdalene Peacock Carroll.

A lifelong resident of St. Mary’s County, she was of the Catholic Faith, a member of St. Cecilia’s Catholic Church, St. Mary’s City, MD. Her first husband Harry Crawford Dalton preceded her in death on March 15, 1978. She later married John Rhodes who preceded her in death on October 8, 2001. She enjoyed gardening and growing flowers.

She is survived by her children, Harry Dalton of Hollywood, MD, Thomas Dalton of Winchester, VA, and William Dalton of Lusby, MD, three stepchildren, Cathy Barnett of Redgate, MD, John Rhodes of Leonardtown, MD and Janette Spindle of Virginia, eight grandchildren and seven great grandchildren also survive. In addition to her husbands she was preceded in death by a son, John Dalton, four brothers, James Carroll, Joseph Carroll, Lloyd Carroll and Pete Carroll, three sisters, Celie Dunbar, Mary Rita Owens, and Sister Frances Raphael also preceded her in death.

A Memorial Mass will be held on Monday September 6, 2004 at 11:00 am at St. Cecilia’s Catholic Church, St. Mary’s City, MD. The Reverend Damian Shadwell will be the celebrant. Inurnment will be held on Tuesday September 7, 2004 at 11:00 am at St. James Catholic Cemetery, Lexington Park, MD.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Ridge Volunteer Rescue Squad, P.O. Box 456, Ridge, MD 20680 and/or the Ridge Volunteer Fire Department, Ridge, MD.
