Al Gore Says Torture Takes Place in
U S Prisons Too; Calls on Rumsfeld to Resign
NEW YORK --- In an emotional speech to
Moveon.org in New York City on May 26, which was broadcast later in the day on C-Span
radio, former Vice President Al Gore ripped the Bush Administration and called on Defense
Secretary Donald Rumsfeld to resign.
After a ear-shattering speech with screaming to match that of Howard Dean (the guy Gore endorsed for President) Gore went on to say that he thought the same abuse and torture of prisoners which was practiced in Iraq takes place every day in American prisons.
Of course, that would be a well kept secret stitched together by a vast right wing conspiracy and ignores the fact that he was part of the national administration for eight years which would have been part of any cover-up of prisoner abuse.
Gore had extensive praise for John Kerry, which ought to make Kerry make plans for returning to the Senate after he loses the election.
Gore further said that Kerry should not be expected to announce what he would do in Iraq if he becomes president, noting that Dwight Eisenhower, during the presidential election of 1952, simply said he would go to Korea if elected.
