Ann Theresa Sweeney
Ann Theresa Sweeney of Hughesville, Maryland died on Saturday, August 14, 2004 at Washington Hospital Center in Washington, DC. She was 72 years old.

Born October 29, 1931 in Wilkes Barre, Pennsylvania to the late Anne E. Flynn and Evan J. Moses. After graduation from high school, Mrs. Sweeney attended and graduated from the Wyoming Valley Seminary Business School in Wilkes Barre, PA. She moved to the Maryland area and worked at the Catholic University as a Tuition Administrator before retiring in 1972. A homemaker and mom, Mrs. Sweeney has lived in Hughesville with her family for 31 years, coming from Lanham, Maryland. She was a member of the American Legion Post 238 Ladies Auxiliary in Hughesville, Maryland, an avid Washington Redskins fan but most of all, her biggest enjoyment was her family, namely her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.

She is survived by her husband of fifty years, William J. Sweeney; daughters Anne Casler of Waldorf, MD, Mary Sweeney of Mechanicsville, MD, Elizabeth Austin of Mechanicsville, MD, Teresa Sweeney of Alexandria, VA and Colleen Turner of Waldorf, MD; grandchildren Amanda Havens, Dale Kohlieber, Charles S. Moy, Jr., Kelly Moy, Christina Sweeney, Jacquelyn Austin, Joseph Austin Jr. and Jennifer Schaub; great granddaughters Taylor and Hannah Havens; sisters Mary Collette Smith of Selbyville, DE, Barbara Youngblood of Wilkes Barre, PA and Catherine Zwiebel of Wilkes Barre, PA.

Family will receive friends on Wednesday, August 18, 2004 from 2-4 and 6-8PM with Prayers at 7PM at the Brinsfield-Echols Funeral Home, P.A. 30195 Three Notch Road Charlotte Hall, MD. Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 9:30AM on Thursday, August 19, 2004 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church Notre Dame Place Bryantown, MD. Interment Cheltenham Veterans Cemetery.
