Annette Kay Homewood
Annette Kay Homewood, 57 of Great Mills, MD, died on Tuesday, September 7, 2004 at the Washington Hospital Center, Washington, DC.

Born on September 29, 1946 in Balclutha, New Zealand, she was the daughter of the late John Alexander Beaton and Anna Thomas Williams Donald.

Mrs. Homewood moved to St. Mary’s County in 1973 while her husband was stationed at NAS Patuxent River, they were later transferred to Spain where she remained for 5 years. In 1980 they returned to St. Mary’s County where they have since resided. Mrs. Homewood owned and operated the Pampered Pets pet sitting service. She attended the St. Andrews Episcopal Church, California, MD, and was a member of the Southern Cross Club, where her fellow New Zealanders and Aussies would get together. She enjoyed knitting and her flower garden. Her greatest enjoyment was the company of her grandchildren that she adored.

She is survived by her husband Jeffrey Albert Homewood whom she married on February 15, 1969 in Christchurch, New Zealand, a son, Donald Homewood and wife Jennifer of Baltimore, MD and a daughter, Stephanie DeLong and husband Cliff of Mechanicsville, MD, two grandchildren, Dominic and Liam DeLong, one brother, Douglas Donald of Toronto, Canada and a sister Lenore Toole of Welaka, FL.

A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, September 18, 2004 at 2:00 pm at the St. Andrews Episcopal Church, California, MD. The Reverend Paula Halliday will officiate. Inurnment will take place at a later date in New Zealand.
